did you look at his test average v Aus?

You mean his test debut series average which happened to be against AUstralia? Bit harsh to judge someone's career by their very first series. Imagine if we did that with Warnie?

I already knew of it - did you see his ODI average? Sublime bowler. Best fast bowler of the 2000's. Shame about his injuries.

Averaging less than 15 against Australia - he murdered the very best in the world.

with due respect, at times we rested a lot of players during these series

Also (again with due respect) I think kiwis go up a kog against australia, whislt we go down a kog ie look further ahead, to a world cup or to a test match

I remember one year we got tanked against the poms at home in ODI series, and then the kiwis killed us (3-0 it may have been) BUT a few short months later we won the world cup, a memory and competition (to me anyway) more prestigious than a 3 gamer thats pits big brother v little brother mentality from the kiwis

But a good record for you lot nontheless, be proud

All I hear is excuses for you guys struggling to beat a crap team as you put it. You didn't go down a cog - often you just had no answer for that which is Bond.Which was apparent well before the Chappel Hadlee started.

99, 03, 07 world cup champs

Bond certainly hurt us there in the tournament that counts

NZ are ranked by wisden based on stats as the second best test cricket team of the 80's. Windies toured there twice and could not win a series. We know what its like to be up the top and fall from grace. You'll get through it.

Just like Hadlee was replaced by Bond and now probably Wagner in 2010; McGrath and Warne will be replaced by someone worthy and you won't be looking at 70 runs behind with 8 wickets remaining of the first innings. Its okay.

Those are the first two tests he ever played. He loved playing Australia as the subsequent 17 ODI games for 44 wickets at 15 shows.

come on man, Bond was a gun in chappell hadlee series, competition far greater and more important to kiwis than test series or world cups :lol:

England's day once again and I can see them going for most of the third day before turning it back to Australia late in the day.

Why do we keep talking about NZ in this thread?? I honestly don't think Kiwis should be mouthing off either TBH. If your team was better I could understand but as I see it both Australia and Kiwi test sides are pathetic. Let us take our medicine and stop bitching when this thread is about Aussies vs Poms not Aussies vs Kiwis FFS.

Also Aussies are rooted, Hauritz would have been better than Doherty that I have no doubt.

keep in mind its a road, if we screw up our 2nd dig then its curtains for the series

Hopefully we can bat for the best part of two days ourselves

It's like St. George Illawarra (Australia) and Cronulla (New Zealand). Whenever St. George do poorly, you'll always see a Sharks fan around to remind them of it.

Same with the Kiwis.

Although Australia have more titles than St. George Illawarra

It may be a road but Anderson will get the ball to swing in the air. Also - not only will Australia be batting under game pressure - lets be honest a couple of guys are starting to feel the pinch for runs.

I think if the weather stays fine - this game is 50-50 at worse for a result in it.

Plus, there may be a Swann factor.

The Rug went at over 5rpo???

Did he bowl pies?

I only saw his first spell, was ok... Strauss had a brain fart and left a straight ball and then Huss dropped a Johnson special (wide half volley outside off going across the right hander) off him as well.

Well we would need a double century or two to get out of this hole. The lack of plans from our bowlers blows me away. Doherty is pretty pathetic if we are honest. I didn't think the Poms were that much better than us but they clearly are.

You are talking about Bollinger. He can't do a thing wrong so it is all ok.
