His first class average didn't give it away to Hilditch and co fortunately for your mob Tommy I think our selector's thought he was a batter given his impressive average of 48 odd.

We errored in dropping Hauritz and Doherty will be worse for it given selectors won't select him again.

Doherty needs at least two series. You can't just drop players after two matches. This isn't the NSWRL selection room. Get rid of North and bring in Smith. At least then you give support to Doherty with a recognised spinner and you improve the batting.

I am not the one advocating the dropping of Xavier, I am on record as saying we need to give him the rest of the series at the very minimum. BUT...I am not in the selection room and I think the selectors will panic before the series is out and punt him.

Hard one on Doherty, I'd prefer we stick with a spinner but he isn't showing much potential. His accuracy is a concern as that was meant to be his strength and at 28 it is hard to build on him. He really was thrown under the bus as the first 3 Ashes Test pitches are the least friendly to spin.
