Why the f**k are all our wickets getting sent upstairs for the NB. Not even close to overstepping. Do your job you pricks.

Michael Holding is a really good commentator. Honest and critical when necessary when too many of the commentators hold themselves back because they are mates with the players.

And FINALLY, Patto with the breakthrough. Surely now Bell is due a failure.

Nathan Lyon has 76 wickets at 33. It's a perfectly servicable record.

We did the same bloody thing to Hauritz when we brought in Doherty and how well did that work out?

It's time to stop f**king around and stick with the bloke who's actually doing a half decent job rather than punt on a miracle from a 12 year old.

Ahmed took 8 wickets for Australia A against Zimbabwe. Given the way the Poms struggled against Steve Smith it wouldn't surprise me if they shoehorn him into the team shortly.

looking grim here?

we lost this test match as soon as we went in to bat. cant win a test match in day 2 but you can lose one.

Deja vu all over again of the last Lord's test at 2009, where the Poms snapped their 75 year winless streak there against us. No surprise that the two tests we lost in that series - Lord's and The Oval - we gave up big 150+ run leads after our first innings, the mountain was too high to climb and simply couldn't run them down from thereon in.

If we lose this test, we have lost it solely off our abysmal batting in the first innings. If you want to be the best at the highest level, you cannot give up 200+ run leads, and then pray and hope that your bowling rolls them in the 3rd innings and/or you can produce a Houdini performance with the bat in the 4th innings.

I'm surprised the Poms didn't enforce the follow on, given how crap our batting has been so far in the 3 innings we've had. I know they're trying to completely bat us out off this contest and hence didn't enforce it, but they could've had us minced meat on toast.

When was the last time he succeeded at international level ?

When was the last he succeeded full stop?

His last 11 innings in all formats:

11, 6, 9, 0, 0, 2, 0, 44, 4, 13, 8.

97 runs @ 8.8

His last 11 first class innings:

11, 6, 8, 0, 2, 71, 26, 6, 23, 59, 0

212 runs @ 19

This is our batting saviour?

WHAT! NO WAY!

That has definitely carried. If Andrew Strauss' catch at Lord's in 2009 was given, Steve Smith's is a dead-set catch.

add salt in the wounds, we take a fair catch and third umpire declines it

same sort of officials that officiate Parra games it appears

That has definitely carried. If Andrew Strauss' catch to dismiss Phil Hughes at Lord's in 2009 was given, Steve Smith's is a dead-set catch any day of the week no matter how you try and slow down the frames on the replay.

Smith has every right to feel filthy about that. It makes him look like a cheat, especially after he confidentally got up, and said he caught it.
