Mate no one was suggesting that expect the tard that is BunniesMong. His opinion on cricket isn't worth a pinch of shit.

You speak true things.

we are just not playing test cricket

There was something very Black Caps like about the Aussie batting so far. There is a good amount of talented strokemakers who will do good things in limited overs cricket, but in the longer format they don't seem to have a defence first approach and no one is looking to bat time.

Watson we all know is famous for pretty but worthless scores, but the way Cowan, Hughes and surprisingly Khawaja were just having a swipe is a real problem. Clarke is just in a bad patch and you'll notice most of his huge partnerships were with Test match level players like Ponting and Hussey. These guys can't support him.

Is this a knock on effect from T20 cricket?

England's T20 eleven barely feature in this test team, its almost a different sport for them.

Can't believe there are suggestions that England are playing negative.

This is the exact definition of test match ownage. Yes the Australians used to get the job done in 2-3 days with aggressive cricket, but there is nothing wrong with using all five to give your batsman time in the middle and completely demoralize the opponent in a different way.

It was just a matter of time before more England batsman got going, the thing that should really worry Australia is that Cook and Pietersen have done next to nothing. This is going to end up 5-0 unless miracles happen.

This. Our batsmen need to learn that Test cricket is like a marathon not a 100 metre sprint.

The argument that they need to "crush" us: we were crushed at 400 down.

The argument that they are tiring us: the players most at risk of fatigue, the quicks, are not even bowling and won't be bowling anymore.

Now, every ball they use makes a draw that little bit more realistic.

It's just senseless when we were beaten 100 runs ago.

I can't work out if this guy is really that dumb or just a troll. I'm fairly new to this forum. Can someone help me out.

Imagine where we'd be if Haddin catches Root like he should have or if Bell was given out like he should have.

Those two things alone cost 200+ runs.

You are clearly a troll. I give my opinion and try to discuss cricket properly. It's people like you that descend into abuse that are the trolls. People who seem to be angered by anyone who has a different opinion. I never reduce myself to having a go at others needlessly. And that's quite the acheivement when there's people like you picking on me

I really do hope the Aussies have a serious crack at the draw, Faf Du Plessis style, just try to defend for 2 days. Would be good for them to actually practice some discipline & defence. And as good as a win psychologically if they can pull it off.

They won't though. They'll use their usual "play your natural game" bullshit approach to these situations and get rolled in a couple of sessions playing stupid shots.

There was nothing worse for the Australian cricket team than seeing alastair cook on the balcony last night with binoculars on like a contiki tourist checking out ladies on a beach in cancun
Surely that footage should be used as motivation enough!

If that doesn't motivate the Australian cricket team in the future nothing will! Australia should get out there and bat and at least put fear into england that they batted too long or they should have enforced the follow on (fear of not securing certain victory) because the primary objective is to win. Not look like alastair cook last night

He should have declared last night, would most likely got a late wicket or two. Not sure what he was afraid of.

Surely they will declare overnight or just have a quickfire 20 min fling at start of play before declaring

If we make it to the end of the day with at least two recognised batsman at the crease it will at least make them a bit scared.

Us getting a draw from this situation would feel as good as a win.

If the Saffers could salvage a draw against us in Adelaide, we can salvage a draw here against their countrymen.

There are two full days left against a fresh Anderson and Swann.
You can forget about a draw.

It wouldn't surprise me if he batted on for at least an hour. Get a 600+ lead and make our bowlers bowl for 4 days straight.

It'll almost break Harris.

 What bollocks.

South African team in Australia: Peterson, Smiddy, Amla, Kallis, de Villiers, Faf, Rudolph.
Arguably the best batting line-up in the world at the time.

Even that is rubbish, it will feel like a miracle escape from a completely unwinnable position.
If they pull it off it will be in the knowledge that they got wiped out for most of the match.

South Africa made 388 in the first innings of Adelaide, and Australia were still batting at day 4 lunch. It does not compare to this match all.

Australia might as well be chasing a million as far as im concerned!

Anyway I think alastair cook was afraid he might miss out on getting an eye full of something with his binoculars

Edit- he didn't miss anything
