Can't see the poms getting out of this today. They have no answer to Johnson and Lyon's been made to look world class out there. I may be wrong but I can't see them avoiding the follow on.

If England score at a good rate they could make a game of it.

However, they will just play for a draw.

Australia need to be aggressive

Just need to get Wesley 'plays spin like Phil Hughes' snipes and Kevin Peterson and this series is 2 - nil. Watch for England to continue to play for a draw like they have from ball one at the Gabba.

England just look tired to be honest, at least their key players aside from Broad... no excuse for Carberry dropping that sitter...

Don't get carried away though, unless you ignore his entire career and his poor mechanics Mitchell Johnson remains not a terribly good test bowler, and Aust's top 6 Clarke aside remains poor, and Haddin doen't have long left...

But good to see Aust giving it to the English, would be nice to see someone other than Broad giving something back... it's a good deck, so with good batting they should...

What astonds me is how much Finn and Tremlett seem to have regressed, they really need something from their 3rd quick, and Anderson to step up

Poms have enough batting to post 500 plus IF they fire. One of the newbies needs to go big, and Bell and KP to step up. Prior to finally contribute would help as well. If we can bowl them out for under 400 on this deck would be a good achievement an we could set them a total on day 5

What will let them down is if they just look to defend everything. In other words Johnson of old can spray them about without any punishment.

I think home advantage is everything in world cricket at the moment... the Poms are on the slide a bit, so South Africa strike me as the only side likely to be succesful home and away...

The real test for Aussie, and everyone else, is how they play away from home... Aust, like everyone else, has been ordinary out of their own conditions...

That makes test cricket exciting though. South Africa are well rounded but all the other sides having weaknesses is fun.

South Africa haven't lost an away test series for 7 years

If they play to their potential they should beat Australia at home in Feb/March for the first time since coming back to international cricket, their only blight at home.
