Gotta feel for Joe Burns. He’s got some quality about him but just can’t get it together. Pressure does crazy things but the bloke is done.

Its awful to watch. Bloke is doing his best but he’s not up to it at the moment. All at sea.

He doesn’t select himself. It’s easy for people to bag him, and I’ve been one of them. But the selectors are the ones who need to take the blame for this. That 50 in Adelaide papered over the cavernous cracks that Burns has in his game right now.

For all the nuffies whinging about him, there really aren't many options at the moment.

If Pucovski doesn't permanently liquify his brain then we'll probably see him and Warner paired up soon but until we know where he stands, it'll be Warner and Burns IMO. Everyone else is a step down, we can't go back to Harris or Bancroft because they're markedly worse.

Harris is in better form though, right? Obviously, Pucovski is the heir apparent and Warner is about to come back in. Not sure how Harris could be much worse than Burns at the moment. He's in all sorts.

Go back score some runs, be the first guy back in. That's how it should have happened.

Are you related to the bloke? You are the only one who ever sticks up for him

I'm just being realistic, which seems unusual on here. Burns isn't the greatest but with injuries to Warner and Pucovski, guys like Harris and Bancroft are worse options. And Wade is a stop gap test player, let alone opener.

Then again, aren't you the bloke who reckons second innings runs don't count and Matt Renshaw is the worst opener we've had in three decades? Understandable that you'd have a rocky relationship with a bit of realism.

Warner should be only playing tests in Australia, South Africa and possibly the West Indies.

Everywhere else he is useless. Khawaja too.

Agreed. But for him, and Pucovski, and Australian Cricket in general, it’s an absolute travesty that Cricket Australia park the Sheffield shield for months in the guts of summer... no Avenue to go back and get your game back together.. apart from grade cricket which is pretty much useless for the cause.

Harris scored a double hundred against Chadd Sayers, Dan Worrall, Wes Agar and Lloyd Pope. On a grade cricket oval

I'd be hesitant to call that form, and he did exactly the same things he did during his Test career in the A game to get out for 25 odd and single figures

Wade is a poor man's Warner. I'm not being derogatory there. Warner is coming back and he needs a partner. Wade might not be complementary to him? He has said he wants to bat with Burns.
