Best part is whoever they pick out of Maxwell, Stoinis or MMarsh and let's face it, it'll be one of those - we know how our selectors think, will be coming in straight off a BBL.
What could possibly go wrong?

Id be going with Maxwell.

Has never played tests in Australia and could be lethal at the MCG and SCG. Has played 7 tests across more than 4 years, all in asia. Not really given a fair go imo.

The other thing is he declined to go into the IPL auction and signed with a county side, sole reason is to play test cricket, or try to get in the side to play tests.

For an allrounder , I would have gone Stoinis (this was before the Warne wankfest over him to be there) but didn't realise his bowling in FC cricket is terrible, and averages around 33 with the bat. Please no.

Gut feeling is they will revert to Mitch Marsh , cause he was/is in the initial squad. Kinda like if a bowler breaks down, then Siddle will be called in

I think whoever they go for, they should get runs as the decks will be easier for batting than what we have seen

Maxwell is the last guy a team that’s prone to middle order collapses should select.

We need guys capable of playing patient innings, no stupid shots. Given Head’s penchant for wild strokes, I wouldn’t have Maxwell in the team until we sure up the middle order.

The obvious answer is Burns, but he is invisible to the selectors.

If they are the choices, I'd prefer a Kurtis Patterson or similar batsman, at least you know he'll put runs on the board as he has been very consistent lately

We dont need an all rounder cuz most of them cant bat or bowl

Head just needs to adjust that awful drive cut thing thats ok he is a first class cricketer learning test cricket.

Michael Clarke hit the ball through the air recklessly too but adjusted. Marsh should have known better with his shot and Handscomb cant play on boxing day surely. Replace with a batsman not Maxwell and definitely not Stoinis.

Patterson is perfect, don’t understand why he doesn’t get mentioned much.

Might be the fact he doesn’t convert enough of his 50’s, but he’d be a good addition to our middle order. We need a guy who soaks up deliveries.

Just watching the replay of Kohli’s dismissal again, it really was pathetic the way he carried on. If it had been an Australian we’d be seeing nothing but ‘ugly Australian’ articles. Hussey’s comments about him being out of control yesterday were bang on.

Can’t stand the bloke.

Finch has been cleared of serious damage hasn't he. They won't drop him as he is beginning to look comfortable and he contribute in the first innings.

Handscomb has to go because he hasnt changed anything and India can remove him with ease. Burns could play 6. 6 needs to be comfortable with the new ball anyway and put Head at 5. Even with his poor dismissal he has been one of our best batsmen.

Finch won’t last long, he just doesn’t have the footwork for test cricket. Surprised you think he’s looked comfortable, he was completely at sea at the start of this innings. Couldn’t play the in swinging ball at all.
