Michael Clarke has now crossed over into that rare realm where kids of an impressionable age will now go into there back yards and pretend to be Michael Clarke, like my generation did with Dean Jones, Steve Waugh, Shane Warne etc.

Meanwhile across the dutch, in paddocks all over New Zealund kids will be imitating heroes like Ken Wellingston edging some 120kmph nuffy Bangladesh medium pacer living in poverty to the slips

That was an epic day at the cricket. Started early, had to be up there about 9am to get a decent spot. Staked a position in the Ladies Stand. Dad went to an op shop to grab some jeans so we could actually get into the members stand itself.

Bacon and egg roll at the pavillion before play started. Beers and curry at lunch. Pretty packed area and what good cricket. Tendulkar first and then Laxman just playing glorious shots. Especially Tendulkar when he raced to 40 odd, effortless cut shots.

Post lunch session was good to. Disappointed to see Tendulkar out for 80. The ball that got Hilf was a cracker. Was in the Long Room in the Members stand drinking a Reschs as Dhoni and then Kholi got out. Some entertaining hitting as well before the final few wickets, Ashwin batted very well.

Haddin was really poor today, bit sad really cos he was a pretty good player until post World Cup, and has long been good for NSW. Past it at this point though and would put Wade in next test. Other than that stuck to task and once Tendulkar was out they fell pretty quickly. Hilenhaus was excellent with that ball to Laxman just a peach.

Being in the Members was cool, close to where they were coming/going from the dressing rooms. Saw some team guy getting a case and box of wine bottles to put in the dressing room, dropped box of wine bottles smashed everywhere. Aussies drink boags it seems. The roar that went up after the final wicket and as the players made there way back up to the dressing room was pretty awesome as well. Few of the players would just chill out at afterwards, Haddin taking his kid into the rooms with him etc. Good atmosphere, and something pretty unique to the Sydney Cricket Ground these days, with most other areas having the members just being part of the stadia these days. Was good fun.

pretty sure he'll be playing a ODI there
Last test innings though, and that's what really matters

On the cricket show today they had lee bowling to Matt King and Sam Burgess at the SCG nets. Was watching and before that Michael Crocker was facing up to Lee. Left hand bat and he could play alright. No helmet, played a few decent drives.
