Oh f**k off Haddin. Gilchrist dropped a catch like that and it's what caused him to retire. You do the same dickhead.
That's why I said in an earlier post that Haddin is the one in the top 7 batting lineup that I have doubts over whether or not he'll be there in next year's Ashes series. Not only has he not been firing with the bat, but his wicketkeeping has been absolutely abysmal. That Ghambir drop catch was as easy as it gets for a wicketkeeper, but that's not the only "easy" catch he has butchered.
In the likewise manner that Pattinson, Hilfenhaus, Siddle et al. have stepped up in the bowling department and will most likely keep Johnson out, either Wade or Paine is going to have to step up to put the pressure on Haddin because at 34, Haddin ain't going to get better.
Regarding Gilchrist, the beginning of Gilchrist's decline was the 2005 Ashes, and he was younger than Haddin (33 at the time). He had 15 or so dropped catches in that series, not to mention that Warne had a better batting average than him. He was NEVER the same test batsman and wicketkeeper after that series (although he still kept doing well in the ODIs). And yes, when he started dropping Brad Haddin-like sitters in his final series vs India, he knew that he was a shadow of his former self (compared to the screamers he took in his 3rd test vs Pakistan at the WACA) and unfortunately, like Matthew Hayden, will be remembered for stayed on for one year too long (contrary to a lot of "cricket experts" on this forum, who suggested he should've stayed on to get to 100 tests. Haydos did that when he knew he was no longer test standard, and we all know what happened to him...). Should've retired after the glorious innings in the 2007 WC Final.
