Flat track or not, that Taylor innings was absolutely superb. His concentration was awesome and showed no sign of slowing down which is a testament to his fitness. Well played Rosco.

Best Starc has bowled for Australia today IMO. Not his best day results wise, but he actually kept at the batsmen for a much greater time, was at the batsmen all day, didn't just rely on the yorker. Busted a gut. Promising.
Agree with this, he has bowled far worse and picked up a 5for. he was outstanding on a boring, slow flat lifeless pitch. Kiwi's have batted really well full credit to them. Our fielding has been poor for a while, Blewett doing a bang up job.

Absolutely he was great. I just hate to see him get bowled into the ground because of flat wickets. Im embarrassed by the last 6 wickets dished up. Its just not what australian fans want. Weve always been a country that loves quicks charging in....not this shit

The NZ cricket team are better sports than us.

When Taylor walked off not 1 of our players shook his hand or said well played mate.

When one of our players bats a whole day the whole Kiwis team will say well played mate/shake hands.

When Australia have to bowl for long periods they don't handle it well!!!!'

NZ play in the spirit of the game whereas we don't!
Yeah I noticed that too...

To be fair to the Aussies... I don't think it's a sign of disrespect or anything like that...

I think it's more a cultural thing... Its probably more common in NZ to congratulate the batsman after a day's play whereas some countries will wait until the end of the match before shaking hands.

I know the English have a thing in rugby where they stop and form a guard of honour for the opposition to walk through after a tough test match.

Not many others do that...

NZ do what they do entirely for show. It has nothing to do with sportsmanship. What they did with Burns in the first Test looked totally contrived and showed little respect for Mark Craig who needed encouragement after getting hammered to all parts.
You'd go up to Taylor after play and congratulate him not do it in front of the cameras to enhance your own reputation.

Good to see Taylor and Williamson get the Kiwis well back into it.

Williamson is ridiculous, will finish up the Kiwis best ever batsman by a huge margin if nothing catastrophic happens to him. Everything is effortless to him.

Wait until matches are played at the Burswood Stadium.

55k seater concrete monstrosity, drop-in pitches, no Fremantle Doctor.....sure Bunniesman will love it (just like he does with Adelaide Oval)
so sad right now....Victorians be gone..

I reckon NZ will be bowled out for 563 with a lead of 4 runs.

At stumps Day 4 Aussies to be 5/270. Lead by 266.

Mighty Windies might do ok

These decks are atrocious - but while they make Warner look brilliant, Williamson looks like he could bat blindfolded - obviously I was already a huge fan, but I reckon he's only behind AB deV now, and of course he's batting #3 behind some shaky openers (or 1 at least). Love what Border said, fair wrap from that, as he's the guy most would want to bat for their lives. At the moment Williamson makes test batting look effortless - which of course it's not. Mr Slave seems to be Kane's bitch though, so funny!

Great innings by Taylor, like many I was getting frustrated with him - this just shows why - when he's focused and plays straight he's a fine fine player. And he weathered a fair test from Starc who really seems to have made the transition to being more than an ODI star

Absolute bullshit...

And all this nice guy shit is an Aussie media beat up - if the last two days have not shown you lot, there is a lot of steel in this team - and they don't have to behave like wankers to prove it

I'd say what AB said about Williamson was pretty spot on.

ABD is still no 1 IMO his range of shots is totally off the charts but Williamson is making batting look ridiculously easy. Smith, Root and Khloi are just behind them.

Johnson looks done but this isn't his sort of pitch, to be fair it isn't any bowlers sort of pitch. At least CA will be happy with another 5 day test.

I see McMillan (who faced Shoaib's 160km plus delivery) has questioned the accuracy... it was a blistering spell, but that one delivery was well out of whack recorded speed wise with the others - nothing (aside from the radar) suggested it was approx. 10km/h faster than anything else he bowled

It's a non-event really, but I have to wonder - seeing very fast spells by Lee and Shoaib (who both were unquestionably quicker than Starc) they consistently were in the high 150's... seems really weird that one delivery would be so much quicker?

But Starc has been very impressive, regardless - terrific talent

Whats with the constant ball changing? Do they still use the rings if the ball is out of shape. I odn't recall seeing those yesterday.

Someone should ask Ross Taylor about busted balls.

And why didn't someone get in on ad campaign with a genteel Taylor sipping tea and nibbling afternoon tea.

"I love my Jatz Crackers."

I didn't see the rings either.

Disgraceful that they're so crap.

That said, the balls are being pounded around the field by those big bats. Surely that is contributing to the balls going out of shape.
