Has smith got a small head or a darth helmet size lid?

Yeah it was a pretty poor decision.....Nowhere near the evidence needed to overturn the decision. Snicko "evidence" is a joke sometimes, they interpret any tiny little bump as an edge or a glove. There's nothing suggesting contact on hotspot and no appropriate noise, but they seem to want to give things out
Yeah it's very contradictory.

I've seen them given - overturned even -including this summer, where there's been nothing on hotspot and yet a tiny blip on snicko which for all we know could be a fart.

For me, if a batsman is given not out then you need evidence from both hot spot and snicko to overturn.

Exactly how they can overturn when hot spot says not out and snicko 'maybe' out because of the tiniest blip I've got NFI.

Australia doing well.

Tommy and JJ nowhere to be seen.
I'm still here. :D

Congrats Davey. An at times fortuitous knock, but still a quality innings all the same.

He'd be in my World XI in a heartbeat alongside Azhar because he's a match winner.

All the same I believe he needs a couple of career defining tours to be considered a great. India is such a tour and a great opportunity to try and replicate what Hayden did in 2001.

Personally I feel like all DRS has really done is provide more opportunities for mistakes...it doesn't really get used for howlers anyway, teams use it for borderline LBW decisions.

It's a bit like the NRLs video ref in that sense.

Ultimately I think it's a good thing because I hate to see matches decided by shockers.

Case in point that Kallis decision in the Boxing Day test when he was set on 38. He missed it by 4 inches; next ball they got another wicket and the test was over as they went from 138/3 to 138/5.

An example from a long time ago but if the DRS can stop that from happening as I'm sure it has then it's overall a good thing.

It should come in handy for Aus in India where the umpires get pressured into the odd dud lbw decision by the incessant Indians appealing.

I reckon the Indians might be converted to DRS. They got a few decisions going their way.

The bonus was their appealing was much more acceptable in the England series.

Realistically I feel like reducing the number of challenges to one would probably be a good move. If it's there for the odd howler (which certainly does happen) then giving sides one review would stop marginal reviews of 50/50 LBW or caught behind decisions and force sides to save it for its intended purpose.

Mike f**king Haysman wanted to up it to 3 or 4 per 80 overs last night on the SL/SA coverage

DRS couldn't save Uzi in England where the dodgiest decision in cricket are made

why does Kallis give you a boner?

If the MCG are going to continue to produce these dreary wickets that produce cricket about as interesting as Bob Willis' commentary then they should lose the Boxing Day Test.

Give it to Sydney or even Alice Springs for all I care.

This pitch is a disgrace.

Boxing Day at Sydney, and a Test at Canberra (for purely selfish reasons)....lol
