Handscombe is a gun. Never heard of him before he got picked for Aus but he has proven himself more than worthy.

Great session. Excellent work from renshaw, starc, warner, khawaja, Lyon, handscombe, smith, hazelwood, bird and maddinson. They should all be proud of themselves.

Yep, definitely, he'll show the lot of us how wrong we are bowling a side to victory for the second time in his career. What a star!
At a time when every merkin wants him hung out to dry and on a pitch offering little, yeah I'd say. And he's contributed significantly to many test wins anyway. People seem to think he's got to be a Warne and take seven for every second test. He's not Warne. There is no Warne in Australian cricket atm. There's not a McGill. There's not even an offie with any serious credentials. That's why Lyon's in the side and it's why he'll be there for the forseeable future.

Bitch about Maddinson because there's other options. Bitch about Wade because there are better keepers. But if you're going to complain about a guy with Lyon's record you'd want to have a half decent replacement ready to step up.

So happy Lyon is taking wickets. Anything to keep him in the team for the Ashes.

Also how good is Azhar? That's about 500 deliveries he's faces now without dismissal.

Well if you're so easily pleased that a spinner who has bowled his side to victory two or three times in 70 tests is enough for you, then that's just swell

Lyon has 3 genuine off spin wickets. Two caught at bat pad and one at leg gully/short fine leg.

Give the guy some f**ken credit.

How is that relevant to a career of mediocrity? Jason Krezja took 12 wickets on debut, Michael Clarke has a 6/9 in test cricket and bowled us to victory two or three times. Of course Lyon will have good days. The issue is they tend to be about four seasons apart....
