How CA agreed to 5 tests a summer is utterly shameful.
There was an opportunity to get to 7 some summers... 4/3 combos.
Whats the line to the bar like Baz???A couple of ordinary shots so far, but shows the value of ball movement over raw pace.
I agree, and I can hardly believe it myself. The schedule for the next few years is shocking in how little cricket the Australians are playing and clearly how much they'll be relying on T20 for content.
I was looking at the ICC's FTP for the next few seasons. We're slated to play Pakistan for two tests in November, then New Zealand Boxing Day/New Years in three tests.
We've also got NZ in three ODI's - which are ALL the home ODI's we're playing next summer - plus 3 T20Is against Sri Lanka, and three T20Is against Pakistan.
Five tests, three ODIs and six T20Is. That's the whole 2019/20 summer schedule. I sincerely hope that ends up being built out, because if CA have agreed to that then they might as well pack it in now.
Incidentally, the following summer, 2020/21, our schedule is once again listed as only five tests. One against Afghanistan (should be a barnburner) and four against - wait for it - India. A few more ODI's scheduled that year too but still pretty bareboned.

Agreed.We can't bat![]()
Agreed.
Surely the batting coach has to be under some sort of pressure???
The batting is somehow getting worse.
You'd think so, but knowing us we've probably extended the merkin's contractSurely the batting coach has to be under some sort of pressure???
Whats the line to the bar like Baz???
I'm going to Day 1 of the first Ashes test, I hope to god we don't bat first.

Quote of the day so far... "You gotta play the cut shot close to your body, it's like any other shot."
Early days yet, he's almost matched it a few times. I think it might be Spock
Ask him how John Snow would of bowled on this deck.Oops, Grampa Chaps the Second has already outdone himself in Bay Two.
