I agree, and I can hardly believe it myself. The schedule for the next few years is shocking in how little cricket the Australians are playing and clearly how much they'll be relying on T20 for content.
I was looking at the ICC's FTP for the next few seasons. We're slated to play Pakistan for two tests in November, then New Zealand Boxing Day/New Years in three tests.
We've also got NZ in three ODI's - which are ALL the home ODI's we're playing next summer - plus 3 T20Is against Sri Lanka, and three T20Is against Pakistan.
Five tests, three ODIs and six T20Is. That's the whole 2019/20 summer schedule. I sincerely hope that ends up being built out, because if CA have agreed to that then they might as well pack it in now.
Incidentally, the following summer, 2020/21, our schedule is once again listed as only five tests. One against Afghanistan (should be a barnburner) and four against - wait for it - India. A few more ODI's scheduled that year too but still pretty bareboned.
