same thing that was at the soccer world cup, which genius invented them FFS. Yes Haurie needs to go, good ODI bowler IMO but not enough variation for tests.

Is Hauritz really the best spinner in Australia? Can't believe he has been persisted with for so long.

India in India..................as much as I don't like Ricky leading...India in India always hard.

Losing the Ashes on the other hand..................

Picking Hauritiz, insisting Watson opens.......

Watson has been our best batsman all series mate. Bag Hauri all you want but fact is the next best are just as bad, if not worse!

Cheers Locky don't mind if I do, Hauri is garbage, hasn't even looked close to getting a wicket, Krejza got 12 wickets in a test, and Steve Smith has youth on his side...Hauri

I will not disagree, but that does not mean he is best suited to opener. I have not put Shane down, all I have said is his conversion rate of 50 to 100 is suited to middle order. This trend will continue. He is a quality player, but opener he is not.......his record proves this.

A for Harie...Smith is a better choice..he may well have been belted to all parts like Nathan was, but his future is far brighter.

Smith should have played over George atleast we would have had 1 decent spin option.

My mistake there was Perth and Adelaide.

George has been economical so he at least is doing something. Hauritz is giving away freebies and doesn't look like taking a wicket.

I thik we can still win this game

Early wickets is the key, start of with Notch and Hilfy, one more wicket and their tail could well crumble quick, we could even have a slight lead. Bat like we did last test, get bowled out, then bowl out India, using North as lead spinner. Series ends 1-1. Coke zero anything is possible

Watson averages in the order of 65 opening the batting, needless to say he won't be moving from there. He just won't. He prefers the ball coming onto the bat. There are no openers bashing the door down anyway (and don't say Hughes as the bloke still can't play a short ball).

Why not play Smith where he is suited- as a top 6 batsman that can bowl, in other words piss Hussey or North off and play Smith there.

Watson averages 51 opening.

10 50's and 2 tons

as Angry said, those are the conversion rates of middle order batsmen, which is where Watson belongs.

Yeah I'm not criticising him it's just that we can't go in to these games 4 quicks and only 1 so called spin option with Clarke and Katich to tweak we needed to have two quicks two spinners and Watson so out of the three I guess George drops off.

Watson averages 51 opening.

Our middle order has been struggling for a while and usually only one of them fires so if Watson was coming in at 5 we could atleast get some stability happening. There is no question he has done very well with the bat since his return but he belongs in the middle order.

Marcus is back, Middle order woes no more

Plus when Haddin comes back and Haurits gets punted for Smith, we will start racking up 600 plus once again

Cheers
