Some of the trends have been exacerbated in this test. Boult over the past 6 weeks has bowled left arm slow medium. Wagner gets wickets by bowling half tracker pies. Taylor's 290 seems to be masking an otherwise poor year. Southee was touted as an all round prodigy but bats like an absolute dunce and just smiles off his cheap giveaway of wickets and wasted potential. The way NZ batted was brainless, Guptill, Williamson, Watling, Wagner, Southee, Boult they all threw their wickets away with stupidly. Latham and Williamson knew the plan against them with the field set and played the strokes anyway with nil care.

NZ need to find someone with pace. Our bowlers are too slow.

Southee has enough pace to do the job, but yeh, he needs some mates

Is Boult "officially injured" or is he just coming back from his back injury and not yet match fit ?

Is it possible he may have had to modify his action to prevent further back injury ?

no, Milne's playing 4 day cricket at the moment, in the ODI squad I think

Henry also bowling well - Boult will come right (I hope) the question is when

Taylor's been ordinary for a long time, shows you how flat the Perth wicket was. Latham's dismissal was stupid, obviously we can forgive Williamson one shocker, but given the context Guptill's was unforgiveable - soooo stupid

He had a stress fracture, that's why he came home from England - stories suggest he's had a herniated disk more recently... so yeah, I think he's not cricket fit as it were, and probably down on confidence

As he showed in Adelaide, he's still the goods at times when in the mid-high 130s, buit at his best he's in the 140s all the time

Boult is now bowling left arm military medium leg stick half volleys. New Zealand have bowled awfully with the new ball. Sri Lanka will win by 200 runs. Wow, Boult bowled a left arm orthodox ball on the half volley to second slip. Horrible.

Latham would be a world beater if scoring 30s was an impressive milestone. He needs to learn how to score singles because he gets tied down and stop playing bog average shots in the 30s.

Just as well us Aussies don't play Sri Lanka over in NZ on those green decks.

Otherwise we would be in big trouble.

Just hope we can last longer then 20 overs this time. Angelo Matthews would go through us easier then the defensive line of the 1999 Western Suburbs Magpies.

Yeah well he does get it up past 145 and can generate frightening bounce off a good length so I definitely wouldn't want to be facing him on a track like this. Sri Lanka are near unbeatable on green decks.

Haven't seen this last one yet - but events this summer (and beyond, actually) mean I am tending towards siding with the Indians - the DRS, at least in it's current form, is a dog...

1. They need to do things properly, and be consistent
2. It is too strategic anyway - unless you have a genius like Watson - not sure what the answer is, but I am liking it less and less

Don't trust the DRS at all with LBW's.

Nah, often some bizarre ones, but now the catches/edges - not just Llong's f**k up, others where there seems to be a grey area, and on-field decisions are reversed... just not filling me with confidence tbh
