I can see why North would frustrate, but why on earth do you want rid of Hussey and Katich??

1. You don't seem to have anyone better busting down the door to get in.
2. You always seem to want rid of someone - before Hussey (and Katich apparently) it was Watson, before that Hayden, Martyn etc etc...

Both Hussey Katich and Punter will all be over 35 after the Ashes.

We have plenty of quality youth starting with Hughes and Smith then moving to Ferguson Khawaja and more.

basically because we believe we can do better, these guys dont get selected till they are 30, so they dont get dropped till they are about 35

the argument that the selectors use is that they have done enough to retain their spot, but my argument would be "why shouldn't we pick our strongest team?"

Hussey had to score today to get a run in the ashes, he's done nothing lately, living off last years form

North couldn't even make a run in first class cricket in Oz, yet he looks at ease in NZ,

all due respct, the poms have a much better bowling line up and he will struggle again

Hughes is obviously talented - but top quality quicks are likely to work him out, and at the moment many remain unconvinced

The others we'll have to take your word, but an average of 35 after 88 innings hardly suggets one is a world beater...

We'd take a good look at him, but if that's the sort of record, coupled with some talent, that'll get you into the Aust side, things aren't looking up...

to be honest, you've played 3 of the weakest test teams going around, and patted yourself on the back for beating them/us... I'd go as far as suggesting that given a sane selection panel, Shane Bond and Jesse Ryder, and we may well have won or drawn this series

Agree on North, 100%

But not the other two - Katich is one of your best, and Hussey has averaged 50 this summer

not startling, but none of the options seem better

Yes, the Poms will trouble you, because Pak, WI, and NZ are awful, and while you've won it hasn't been as convincing as many want to make out

I've got no problems with Kat, test player of the year last year, Watson is in good form as well

if North regains his form, well and good, but our selectors were too slow to react in the last ashes and that cost us the ashes imo

they were slow, that time, and the last time you lost them

but you can understand it - for the last 20+ years consistency in selection has served you pretty well - not sure that they'll change in a hurry... I guess the difference now is that some players - North, Siddle, Hauritz, Harris, Bollinger, Hilfenhaus etc - while to varying degrees are good test cricketers, are not of the quality of the players they replaced....

yeh, I agree, but our selectors are also a new bunch and I think they take the easy way by sticking with players for too long coming up with rubbish cliches like they deserve to go out on their own terms and certain players are good around the sheds etc,

games are won out in the middle, not in the sheds

I just think we have an unintelligent bunch of selectors atm who cant do their job without having statsguru in front of them, they keep talking about players records rather then current form

when I hear them talk on TV I just wanna upchuck, they say some of the dumbest things I've ever heard from Australian cricket selectors

it really is hilarious.. Aussie cricket fans remind me of All Black fans... they squabble amongst themselves about who there going to choose not realising that all the blokes they put in are world class.

far out... if Katich & Hussey all of a sudden declared themselves kiwis... they would be batting 1 & 2 in the next game.

just absolute class...
