Bracewell got the two big wickets.... our 3 pace bowlers could turn into anything!

I am hopeful

Has Kruger van Wyk ever played cricket before

my god he's awful imo

He's not that bad. Keeping wise, he's better than, say, Wade. And he's a better batsmen than he has shown in this Test- though he shouldn't really be batting any higher than 8, or 7 at a push.

Yep, but Wade can't be quite as awful as he's looked, surely...

6 and van Wyk was a complete joke... but for mine, I've never been happy with the selection of him or Wagner - maybe I am getting old and grumpy, but I don't want second rate South Africans in our team... we have plenty of good keepers, and Boult >>>>>> Wagner. Elliott was the other f**king joke...

I like Kruger TBH. As far as has he played before, he has over 5000 runs in first class cricket at a fairly healthy average. I wouldn't bat him at 6, but I wouldn't be against him batting at 7 or 8. He usually holds the lower order together well and his keeping is very good. Obviously though under enormous pressure from Watling/Ronchi, depending on how thehy decide to play Watling (surprisingly, if at all given his recent record).

We might replace him with a second rate Aussie

And Brownlie or Cachopa?

Brownlie's like Fulton. Back-foot orientated and struggles to get off the crease. He was all at sea in the carribean. Could go ok in south africa.

If Carl Cachopa keeps his form going then I'm sure he'll get a run in some form. He's currently in a rich vein of form after what was a very under-whelming start to his FC career.

He was at least born a Kiwi...

Sorry, I don't like anyone spending a few years in the country and then claiming to be Kiwi - again, maybe I am getting sad and old, but that's the way it is... van Wyk is a decent cricketer, and possibly a nice fellow - but not really a Kiwi, not a test number 6, and IMO not worthy of selection above several other options - shit, Reece Young was as good with the bat, and a better keeper

Anyways, we need a wicket...

Sri Lanka obviously not taking a page out of the faf duplessis survival handbook

The rain might save them though

What is it with NZ spinners? Completely incapable of winning test matches in the fourth innings. Patel is deadset bog average.

I have a sinking feeling that Sri Lanka are going to pull off a miracle and save this.
