for too long now, we have had a batting lineup that is barely much more than flat track bully's. There's no patience or reliable defence amongst the majority of our top 6 batsmen. As soon as a bit of pressure is applied, they all crumble. No one wants to stand up and put a stop to the rot.

Both Smith and Rogers have shown they can knuckle down.

James Anderson will occasionally get perfect conditions and he will dick a side.

2 out of 6 who occasionally play to conditions is hardly good enough.

Well yes but its been a problem for a bit. Outside of sending young cricketers to England to play county cricket I'm not sure what the answer is. Australians used to be able to use soft hands in England. Taylor and Waugh made their careers with it.

I can't believe how topsy turvy this series has been.

Two average batting line ups that can't bat on anything but roads basically. It's the modern game.

Give me a Justin Langer or a Gary Kirsten over any of these flat track bullies.

Listen I don't like the miserable prick but in the right conditions Anderson is an absurdly good bowler. I expect him to dick us at least once. Hopefully this is it for the series now that Trent bridge doesn't swing as much.

So a bit of bad batting but plenty of good bowling too.

This really was a bowl first pitch, still have NFI why we batted first on this! Overhead conditions...greenish pitch and you bat?

I do agree with you that we should've batted first but if we can roll them for something under 200 I still think we are still in with a good shot, weather should be better tomorrow and the pitch will dry out a bit, but we really do need a few quick wickets early and The poms will crumble.

I don't think it was that tricky. Anderson got inside Nevills head and did him with clever bowling. Warner got a good one. Smith got stuck on his crease but a lot was just bad batting. Mitch Marsh was disgraceful.

Voges should have let the ball go that dismissed him, it was well wide of off stump and it was an ordinary way to get out. He shouldn't have even thought of playing it.
