Good to see the media speculation confirmed.

I guess the ball is in Haddin's court as to whether he plays on or pulls the pin completely.

Very true.

I should have put in "after the series" as I can't see them going back to Haddin during our summer.

I was happy for Haddin to play the series but his time is up...can't believe the selectors had the balls to make that call

Yeah, they are the type of tough calls that weren't being made until Lehmann took over. Another tick in the box for Boof.

The correct decision, it should have been made after the Indian series. Hope his family situation is 100% fine, but from a cricket point of view they have made the right call.

I've always been a big Haddin fan and he's served us very well in all forms of the game but his time is up. His batting and keeping has declined for the past couple of years and Nevill has been fantastic this year and did very well on debut and I'm happy for him to keep his spot.

Thanks for the memories Brad

Well done selectors, tough decisions needed to be made and they have made them.

Well done Hads on a fantastic career, hopefully we can bring home the ashes for him.

Been a watershed series even if we don't win as we've got a coach who is finally willing to promote players on form.

Realistically, by dropping Hadds and Twatto, you gain two able batsmen, a superior keeper and a quality 2nd change bowler. By doing this we effectively can bat down to 9.

Lol at Hayden being a fruitcake....at least Ponting was reasonable about it.

Trust two Blokes who played at least 2 years to long not to get it.

I'm sure Hayden and Langer share the same brain.

You mean 3...the other one that is crying is Ian Healy...probably still annoyed they turfed him for the greatest keeper of all time in Gilchrist!

Wally Grout + Derek Murrary + Bob Taylor + Jack Russel + Wasim Bari + Don Tallon + Les Ames + Alan Knott + Bert Oldfield + Godfrey Evans > Gilly/Healy

Healy > Gilchrist

As an annoying commentator yes.

As a player not even close, keeping was very good, Healy was a fraction better....but Gilchrist averaged 50 with the bat. Not even a contest. Unlike Healy, Gilchrist knew when to retire.

Ah yes but could Gilly keep to Warnie the way Healy did ;-)
