We do not need another bloke who makes a start and fails to go on with it.

50’s aren’t failures in this team. I’d take what we can get.

We need to stop the collapses, Patterson is a guy who can help with that.

Honestly, we can’t look at selections like we used to, we just don’t have the cattle.

Good fighting knock from Cummins..but the relatively trouble free nature of it just goes to show how f**king woeful our top 6 are
I haven’t seen enough of the current Aussie team TBH...

But from the small amount I’ve seen mate it’s like they don’t have that grinder in the middle to top order...

That stodgy bloke who will come in and fight tooth and nail to hold his wicket.

Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman type bloke... Jacque Kallis also...

I remember how f**king highly we valued Steve Waugh’s wicket... that motherf**ker could stop a batting collapse in its tracks...

In this day and age where T20 has pushed run rates up higher and higher across all forms it just seems like a lot of the current players are incapable of put away the big shots and knuckle down to grind out a couple of sessions of test cricket.

Anyway... this shit is making me feel old.. :joy::joy:

Won’t happen but if Cummins wins it from here and gets a much deserved century it would be the best individual performance in a test I’ve ever seen from a player. He has been the shining light of this summer. Makes me so annoyed now that if just one of the top 6 in either innings went on with a start we are in a winning position here...

If Shaun Marsh isn't dropped at the very least can someone make him wear an adult sized shirt?

Cummins is the perfect #8, unfortunately he'd also probably be a better 1-7 compared to the current options (exaggerating, but only a little). In an ideal world a number 8 is a good spot for a "second" all rounder who is a bowler that can pull some 50s and the very occasional 100 out.

Has to be harder mentally for a bowling/fielding side too when they see genuine batting all the way to 8 with 9 & 10 also capable. Look at India in the 2nd test, as soon as they were 6 down the innings was pretty much done.

But seriously, they surely cannot pick the Marsh's again, surely.

FMD just pick the best 19 year NSWelshman and QLDer.

Could not do worse.

Paddy will bat all day and get the runs then he'll probabaly just go for a casual stroll across Port Phillip Bay.

The 13 man squad that is current was picked for MCG and SCG so the Sydney squad has already been picked.

So unless we bring Tremain in and rest a quick bowler the only other change can be Handscomb back in for MMarsh.

My deadly serious tip: Mudguts Finch and the Marsh duds will score runs in Sydney when all the pressure is off.

And then Langer will tell us how wonderful they are

According to the GOAT Finchy has been hitting them well in the nets - I guess this means that he will be an automatic selection for Sydney.

Interesting seeing Gilly & Warne presenting together like this...

Am I wrong in thinking that Shane Warne couldn’t stand Gilly??

Or am imagining that??

There's nothing like collecting big fat pay cheques from uncle Rupert to make past differences disappear and forge new and $tronger friendships.... Sterlo, Fatty and Gould all despised Ray Hadley (who doesn't) but they're all pally pally again since the day Hadley got Voss rissoled from Channel 9 and had to start working together again....
