So the little lisper from a waste land state thinks it's pretty poor of an Aussie crowd to boo an Aussie player on Aussie soil.

https://www.smh.com.au/sport/cricke...or-booing-mitchell-marsh-20181226-p50oc1.html

FFS man. Get out of the bubble. This is the shit that got Aussie cricket in a hole.

Yes, yes...it's a Victorian crowd, I know. However, this attitude that folks who never played test cricket don't know anything about cricket, etc etc really irks me.

People have paid their $$$$. If they want to boo the selection and participation of arguably the most over rated, and quite possibly the worst test player to ever don the creams and daub the zinc, then kudos to them.
Twavis needs to score runs. Not brownie points.

hmm, I read the article. Seems like pretty standard stuff you'd want the players to say regardless of what you think of Marsh. If they came out and said "f**k Marsh, bring Handscomb back in", or said nothing at all, that'd be a pretty bad sign for Australian cricket IMO

Maybe Pant - from behind the stumps - can run through the order and ask each Aussie batsman:

Hey boy...boy...I know Mitch Marsh is your team mate boy...but surely you can't like the bloke? Or his selection? Or his inability to take wickets or score runs? Hey boy? Hey girl? Superstar all-rounder....here we go...

Imagine if when Paine was chatting to Murali, Murali turned around and said "yeah, Kohli's a c**k'. What would that have said about the Indian team culture and harmony?

It's a good sign that Head is sticking up for Marsh

Also- I don't see where he said anything along the lines of 'folks who never played test cricket don't know anything about cricket'

You're probably right. On both counts. I concede.

Marsh actually did his job OK yesterday and unlucky not to have 2 wickets to his name.

India's run rate is pretty poor, they haven't really stamped this dominance on this game, they have only lost 2 wickets but they were lucky and didn't really dominate the ball on a highway. They seem more intent on just occupying the crease and playing for a draw.

I cant see their bowlers doing much on this pitch.

You're actually on the money.

At one point towards tea I think, they're were sub 2 runs per over.

Pujara soaked up a helluva lot of balls for little return.

And yes...I begrudgingly concede Marsh bowled decently yesterday. Should he go on to score a ton, I'm fairly certain I'll be hanging over the fence and wishing him well.

Im glad you approve of laughing at a child abduction. Fine citizen you are.
I guess this proves the theory that 2 out of every 3 raiders fans are ok and the other one is a dickhead.

Telling people what they can and can't find humorous is Twitter grade f**kwittery.

Marsh's bowling has never been the problem. He's always solid at worst, which for a fifth bowler is fine, and he does get the ball to reverse and to seam. He did both at times yesterday, as much as the wicket allowed and honestly probably slightly more than it should have.

The problem is that he is the worst top six bat of all time. Literally, he has the worst average of any top six bat having played more than 20 tests or something in history. That's obviously a problem.

He'd be fine if he was batting 8 as a bowling all rounder (although obviously our attack is plenty good enough that he'd be down the pecking order)

Lol at modern day cricketers...

Mel: "have we seen the best of Marcus Stoinis yet?"

Ponting: "no I don't think we have..."

Tommy Smith watching: "isn't the merkin 29? Tell him to hurry up and reach his potential then".

Just another trash slogger with an overinflated opinion of himself. It isn't about having levers.

Shiv Chanderpaul looked malnourished his entire career but averaged 50 in Tests over a 70 year career.

So get your shit together, Millennials.

I think Stoinis is a bit of a plodder with flashes of near brilliance, but I also don't think he's done much wrong. Of course he's going to say he's ready for a test call up if someone asks him, it's every cricketers dream.

He knows what he is as a player and he owns it. I can respect that, even if I think he's dumb as a box of cheese.

The problem is the people who genuinely seem to believe that a decent limited overs player is a genuine test option...

Interesting the feedback from the Bancroft interview with Gilly.

Gilly said he was proud of him, the fox commentators there said he was honest, called it as it is, got a lot of his shoulders etc...

Over at ch7

Both Slater (in serious mode) and in particular Punter both gave it to Bancroft. At the timing of the interview (1st day MCG test) to throwing Warner under the bus , to trying to improve his brand which according to Punter suggested it has damaged it. Punter was quite brutal, had to stop himself from bagging him more
