That little segment on Stoinis was going ok about his Greek heritage, problem was when he started talking about himself. Glad Mel put a blunt stop to it when Slater started to chirp in "he is a strong boy..."

I've seen a couple of Stoinis interviews now (not today). He sure as shit thinks he is the second coming of Donald Bradman.

I feel for the bowlers on a disgraceful track like this. They're just about powerless. All they can really do is keep it tight, bowl the odd good short ball, and hope for a f**k up.

Disgusting

Interesting the feedback from the Bancroft interview with Gilly.

Gilly said he was proud of him, the fox commentators there said he was honest, called it as it is, got a lot of his shoulders etc...

Over at ch7

Both Slater (in serious mode) and in particular Punter both gave it to Bancroft. At the timing of the interview (1st day MCG test) to throwing Warner under the bus , to trying to improve his brand which according to Punter suggested it has damaged it. Punter was quite brutal, had to stop himself from bagging him more

Punter didn't like his mate Davey being thrown under the bus, and how the f**k can you blame Bancroft on the timing ?

That little nugget is the media wanting to get maximum exposure from the interview by broadcasting it during the Boxing Day test match.

I read another article on FB this morning where Punter says they both walk straight back into the team as they are 2 of the best cricketers in the world.

Punter is a dickshit. He'd have blokes like Warner in an all time good blokes eleven, because they suit his own personality....

Fantastic batsman, obviously, but a very poor captain and a very big part of the win at all costs culture

That’s drawing a long bow. Warner is responsible for his own stupidity. So is Bancroft.

No I was talking about the win at all costs culture the review exposed at an organisational level, not the specific incident in Cape Town. Could have been clearer, sorry.

Warner and Bancroft, and to a lesser but equally important degree Smith, are wholly responsible for their decision. But that decision came from a deeper and much older issue, and guys like Ponting (among others, mind you) had a huge hand in creating that culture within the Aussie cricket setup.

I'm a huge Steve Waugh fan, but I have to admit that it probably started under him, and then began to infiltrate more and more under Ponting and some of the higher level staff at that time

Yeah agree

Bancroft was 27yo, playing his 8th test. Didn't know any better? please
He was on the brink of being dropped anyway.

Unless he scores a ton of runs in SHIELD CRICKET , doubt he comes back anytime soon, maybe never, particularly if Harris does well, and they bring back Warner (Or promote Khawaja to opener when Finch as had enough)
