Once again what does my username and Nathan Hindmarsh have to do with the fact that you know 1/5th of f**k all about cricket???
Deflect all you want but everyone in here knows you have completely NFI when it comes to the great game of cricket.
Well I have played the game at a decent level, unlike yourself. You do type beautifully from the comfort of your mother's basement though, your philosophy of me not knowing much about Cricket is based off of my comments when I said that they should be trying to score as opposed to blocking and for the 23rd time, I wasn't asking them to go Glenn Maxwell style and start reverse hitting for 6, I just wanted to see them looking busy trying to rotate the strike, not get bogged down, I know how the game works, I know how the good bowlers will try and get inside the head of the batsmen, find a way to get into the psyche and ultimately get them out and if you allow yourself to face 6 balls in a row, you give them that opportunity, especially on debut.
Do a survey, ask the best bowlers in the world would they rather get hit for 4 or would they rather see the bloke jog down the other end (i'm talking Test cricket, not T20, obviously in T20 they'd give them the single over a boundary), effectively causing the bowler to execute a different strategy to a completely different batter, I already know the answer. Why do you think Watson was so good in the shorter format but absolutely useless in the longer form? He could hit a boundary but he had no touch about his batting, he couldn't rotate the strike and release the pressure, bowlers had ball after ball to hit his pad and that's usually what happened, that's just 1 example for you. You with your infinite wisdom (just kidding, you've got as much wisdom as a synthetic potplant) think that not getting out is a great result and it was a great result in that situation but there's a method and a way to go about it without making yourself vulnerable, they got away with it and they played and missed a lot, both openers were missing freebies off the pads, tuck those away, get up the other end, pressure is released.
You can take the high and mighty stance that I know nothing about Cricket simply because I don't share the opinion of yourself, if it was so easy to walk out in the middle and block the ball for 6 balls an over, we'd see far more draws than we actually do, it's not easy at all because you can't take that approach, it just doesn't work. Initially you'll be okay but eventually when you're unsure about yourself, the doubt created by the bowler will sneak into your mentality and your feet won't be where they need to be, your balance won't be there, you'll nick off, perhaps get caught on the crease and get hit on the pad.. who knows, no I am not saying that draws aren't common these days purely because of what I just mentioned, obviously the conditions are a factor as well but if you walk out to bat with the sole intention of trying to survive, your wicket is imminent.
I don't know why I need to explain myself to you of all people, your reaction to a subjective view is a clear indication to me that you lack maturity, you take it personally as if I am saying that you're wrong and I am right. I am not saying that, I am saying I have a different view, a view that I believe is the right view, that doesn't make it the absolute correct view but in my opinion that's how I see it, you see it another way and that's fine by me, I don't get why you have to take pot shots all day long about something that I said, this is a forum, a forum is a place for discussion, believe it or not discussions do involve subjective views, something that you struggle to deal with, maybe you need to exclusively stick to the Parramatta forum, where subjective views will be few and far between and when someone does roll on in with a subjective view you can ask the moderator to stick that post in the troll forum.
I expect your response will be full of insults and sarcastic remarks about rotating something somewhere, i'd be shocked if it was anything to do with the game, you'd much rather personally attack someone then discuss the game, especially if there's a subjective view involved.
Over to you, whiney.
