Australia on top, as we've dismissed them for we'll below 300. SA's bowling looked pretty menacing at times and if they finally click they could run through us. Can't wait for day 2.

Good day, if you had said to me we would roll them for 225, we would take that. Now lets hope Warner, Punter (yeah I know dreaming), Pup, Huss, Wade, Hastings 9well he is a better bat than bowler) and Johnson can get us to 300

The pitch is only going to benefit the bowlers on day 1 and early day 2. We don't need quick runs early, they will come after lunch. Just need to see out the first session without losing any wickets

What idiot was saying our opening partnership is set in stone? 1 good innings each in 10 tests (if neither does anything between now and the end of the summer) is not the basis to a good opening pair.

I'm still unconvinced if Warner is cut out for Test cricket. We need a bigger sample size. And I'm still unconvinced about Cowan period. A much shittier version of Justin Langer comes to mind.
Agreed and considering Hughes averages less than both of them at Test Level he never deserves another shot.

Was sitting in front of the Aussie rooms today and had a huge laugh when Lyon walked out of the room and an even bigger one when the crowd went off thinking it was Ponting walking out

Can't wait for more tomorrow!

We'll either do really well today and still be batting at stumps or get rolled for less than SA's total, not sure at this stage, depends if Ponting and/or Clarke get their eye in.

amazing how Watson cannot play a straight ball, he's not a top 3 batsman

I reckon his LBW rate would be higher than any other batsman

oh.....and Lyon >>>>>> Quiney

I reckon Chimp Warner deserves a rap for his batting in the last session. At times he looked edgy but stuck around it out and resisted playing the big shots when the SA bowlers were doing a bit.

He's set himself up for a chance at a big score.

He certainly gives you heart attacks with his big swings. Look forward to seeing him revert to his natural game today as yesterday he didn't look comfortable.

I think it's pretty obvious that Watson isn't a top order batsmen, he was only good as an opener when he was in insane form (Like Clarke is in at the moment) - Now that he's come back down to earth I think he should be at 5 or 6 to be honest.

For Sri Lanka Series:

Openers - Warner and Cowan (Possible replacements through form or injury: Hughes)
Top Order - Clarke and Khawaja (Possible replacements through form or injury: Doolan, Ferguson, Quiney)
Middle Order - Watson, M.Hussey, Wade (Possible replacements through form or injury: ?)
Lower Order - Siddle, Starc, Hilfenhaus, Lyon (Possible replacements through form or injury: Hastings, Johnson, Bird, Cutting)

What bullshit. Smith did the EXACT SAME THING the last test and they give that fat merkin a second life.

Not a single bit of evidence showed he hit that, yet he's still given
