Hughes doing will getting the scoring ticking along and rotating the strike. Looks in good touch.

Cowan meanwhile is plodding along and getting stuck.

That was one of the derpiest overs I have ever seen being played out by an Australian top order batsmen. Herath bowled well, but FFS Hughes made it hard for himself.

You all are making it sound like it was some nuffy bowling to him. Herath was the leading wicket taker in 2012. He's a world class spinner bowling on a turner. Yes he didn't look great but Cowan is looking no better.

At least it looks like Hussey is a good chance to have a bat.

Hughes does have issues against spin....but, I hate to say it, I'd put him on the plane to India...he needs to get experience in spin conditions.

I'm sorry guys, I took a perverse pleasure in that wicket. Good thing is that Clarke is in now and he won't be stupid like Cowan and Hughes

He was walking to about 3m outside off to hit behind square and risked getting pegged for no reason. Hearth is bowling well but Hughes was making him look unplayable. Just dumb cricket and not needed. Deserved to get out.

It became blatantly obvious how inept against spin Hughes is when he was almost sweeping Herath onto his stumps..

As big a derp against spin as you will ever see..

I think if you take Hughes to India, you run the risk of sealing a third and final axing from the team.

would take a hell of a lot of something to come back from three

Herath has very little to do with Phillip Joel trying to smash the ball into his own stumps you mong.

What kind of idiot logic is this? You're worried about axing him for a third time. If you don't take him to India guess what...you're axing him for the 3rd time.

Look at what someone as great as Matty Hayden averaged in India. Even if Hughes does struggle, many outstanding Aussie batsman have struggled there.

Cowan just looked worse there than anything Hughes did. He just tried to sweep something that could have been cut. And he was facing a part timer.
