Did I just hear Chappell and Healy contemplating having Stuart Clark as 12th man in SA?

WTF?

Chappell and Healy said they'd have him in the side ahead of Siddle .. they both reckon they are similar bowlers and you only need one of them.

Yes I know they eventually settled on that, but they actually stopped to think about it.

Let's see - Siddle or Clark. That's like choosing between Joe Williams and Andrew Johns.

 The brains trust.

Siddle is an erratic, match unfit rookie, and Clark has plenty of first class experience and has proven himself in South African conditions.

I wouldn't exactly label Clark the "Andrew Johns" of cricket. He's a great bowler but it's not like he is to cricket what Andrew Johns was to Rugby League.

Talk of Smith batting with his hand in plaster is a joke. Richie can rave on all he likes about Colin Cowdrey doing the same 50 years ago BUT they didn't have Workplace Heath And Safety legislation then. Surely Ponting could say that his bowlers would refuse to bowl to him on the grounds that he could suffer permanent damage.

It's a comparison based on the level of talent not a comparison between Clark and Johns.... Siddle is decent as a fill in but Clark would be your first bowler picked when fit.

Maybe after he retires they (the Knights) can get him to come of the bench in a trail. A la Joey in the Big Bash a year or so back;-).

I make myself laugh sometimes. I must be drunk or something. Hopefully most of you have no idea what I'm gibbering on about.
