Good one Rocky Da genius, we had 2 tailenders batting for nearly 2 hours. But yeah Pontings and Johnson were the heroes :?

We??? Obviously you must support SA..lol. Mitchell and Ponting have exposed you as a clueless goose hence they are heroes. Congratuations though for being the most clueless cricket judge on here and that's quite an achievement.

Graeme Smith just became my favourite cricketer.

Amazing guts. Amazing theatre.

That's what makes cricket, at its best like this, the most tensely drawn out sport in the world. Such sustained nervousness.

Some hilarious sh*t in this thread but this is a great post - well said Tommy - totally agree. ;-)

WTF???? I said we as in Australia let 2 talienders bat for nearly 2 hours on a minefield 5th day pitch. And i'm the goose??? FMD we got out of jail if they have off hung on for 10 more balls we wouldn't have heard boo out of you.

the tail batted well all series, and so did ours

Saffas had just as much trouble with our tail as we had with theirs, and they had better bowlers

give the batters some credit

Merv must have voted for MOM, Clarkey very unlucky

honest question

how much of the last 2 hours did you watch?

they did bowl at the stumps and the batsman had the bat down halfway through the bowlers jump and they did bowl on the stumps to smith

it's like some people automaticaly think bowling at the stumps = out

Great call. Unfortunately that will fly through to the keeper by certain clueless wonders in here who clearly have NFI.

Siddle gets MOM on a bowlers wicket :? If Clarke doesn't hit 138 and we don't get 445 totally different result.

You people will whinge for anything.

If Siddle had not got 8 wickets Clarke could have got 400 runs and they still would not have won.

G. Smith has got a big set for coming out to bat with a broken finger and buggered elbow. Thats brave against a test attack with genuine pace and on what must be one of the worst looking pitches Australia has produced for decades???

If you're pleased with tail ender batting them to within 10 deliveries of saving the unsalvageable then I'd be questioning your cricketing knowledge...except it is rather obvious that would be waste of time...

great ball to end it. but it never should have come down to that. gilchrist decided to retire after putting down a sitter in his last test at adelaide, maybe haydos is in that mind set now. his fielding has been slopping, his batting unacceptable. will he be given a shot at redemtion in the one day series? because theres no way the selectors could pick him for SA tour... then again....

while that may be true at the death of a game it is better to bowl at the wickets and make them play and possibly miss, leading to a possiblt bowled or lbw, than bowling 3 feet wide of off stump and allowing them to leave it.

Absolutly no chance of getting a wicket that way unless someone has a brain meltdown and that is more luck than skill.

???? If he doesn't get them runs and we get below 300 it's a totally different game, we might have had less time to bowl them out on the last day, we might have been behind going into our second innings who knows becuase we were 5 for 170 odd.

Um...wouldn't he be celebrating anyway if he was South African as they won the series 2-1 ?
