Was starc's injury due to the fact he had to bowl extra overs because Australia didn't select an allrounder?

Oh, wait we did.

Surely this isn't the wicket.....surely.....?

It's a DT article so I'm naturally skeptical that they're trying to pass of a practice wicket as the game wicket or something...but seriously, if that's the pitch...

India would happily put up with another slap on the wrist from the ICC for the Ranchi pitch if they can ambush Australia with a series-defining hit and run job starting on Thursday.

about the size of it

Love the comparison with the Basin - LOL

Pitches have generally gone too far in favour of batsmen IMO. Despite being poor/below average the Indian wickets have produced compelling cricket this series - but this one looks a doozy though LOL

Bird needs to comes in for Starc, with Haze these two can bowl a lot of overs if need be , which looks unlikely as it looks like 200 might be a good score

The wicket looks like a pile of poo, so we need to take in 6 batsman for this game and hopefully have enough runs that our bowlers can do the job like in the 1st test and 1st innings of the 2nd test

Can you imagine Maxwell batting on that pitch, looks ideal for a couple of reverse sweep shots, lol

If it plays poorly (in NZ rolled mud just plays low and slow, guess it will crack there) India are taking a risk - could make a 45 min flog session from Warner or Maxwell become telling - all they need is a bit of luck

I don't understand the thinking behind producing these poor pitches. There are suggestions that this one might be worse than Pune. As I see it all it achieves is bringing the two teams closer and making the result dependant on the coin toss.

I don't get why they don't just prepare standard pitches and back themselves to out score us.

Indeed. It's not like India are a bunch of slouches with bat or ball. Also our selectors seem hellbent on picking 5 batsmen, 4 bowlers and 2 spectators.

Yeah but one of those spectators is the king of chat, so he's worth like, five or six spectators.....

That's true. Can't under estimate the power of an on field cheer squad and heckler all in one package. Our true all rounder.

lol just read on Facebook it's out of Stonis and Maxwell for the number 6 spot. They are truly clueless they really are. Honestly the selectors don't want us to win this series.
