No it wouldn't. I don't want anyone involved to ever play again. Smith has ruined his career
I agree he has totally tarnished his reputation not arguing that point at all. The worst thing is the position he put one of his young players in. It's not the actions of a captain or a leader.

Steve Smith will easily find a role in the Liberal Party with his spiv-speak once he is forced to resign.

The lack of accountability at the highest levels of politics, business and sport in this country is ridiculous. Take some f**king responsibility.

Smith needs to fall on his sword here. There’s no way he can remain captain after admitting he was in on it.

This is would probably, in some ways, be a good thing if CA had any balls.

Smith cannot stay on as captain and none of the leadership group should be involved in leading the side either. Lehmann needs to go over this as well IMO. Use it as a trigger to clean up the system.

But they won't

The worry is this was, in their words, from the leadership group

Sure, Bancroft can be suspended, but Smith, Warner (seems logical the v/c is part of the leadership group) and whoever else is in that group should be hit hard... If Bancroft is the sole person punished, it's kind of the last straw with the ICC being a joke -he's a junior player, and it seems he was being a team player.

The last straw was when Rabada made intentional physical contact with a batsman and was free to play in the next game, I sensed that the gloves would come off in this game but I didn't expect it to be in this way

Absolute morons in this so-called leadership group.

There's no momentary error in judgement here or an experience that they can "learn from", it should never, ever be a consideration under any circumstances. Australian Cricket shouldn't take this shitty culture lightly - the captain either needs to take full responsibility and fall on his sword, or be pushed onto it. And I'd suggest the time as come for Boof to strongly consider it as well.

I can't believe they actually went through with it. Gutless, spineless, disrespectful.

Jimmy Maher unloading deluxe on the whole state of the game and the attitude festering in Australian cricket atm, and the lack of leadership in the game today. i hate to admit it but he's spot on.
