Boycott giving it to us deluxe on the radio, he is spot on. Besides Clarke and Rogers how many batsman got out playing off the front foot??? Trying to take the ball on the up in England is a recipe for disaster.

Warner played from the crease.

Geez even the balls Notch is leaving are cutting back in and just missing the stumps.

As the saying goes, you can polish a turd all you want, but it is still a turd at the end of the day.

Clarke has been terribly out of form, and I feel given what happened in Edgbaston and now this test, a similar pitch will be dished up at The Oval to further add to his woes. Clarke only has himself to blame for the last test, given he won the toss, chose to bat first in bowling-friendly conditions and we paid the price.

One of the very few times I've criticised Clarkes captaincy. Normally he's very good, but how he didn't bowl there I'll never know. Turns out it's almost certainly cost us the Ashes.

Pwrhaps we need an English batting coach for ashes tours to teach the batsmen how to play english conditions. Johnson looking more like a batsman than the guys picked for the job.

Michael DiVenuto was a one day dasher, what in the hell would he know about playing a tough knock on a tough wicket with the ball hooping around???

7 down lol.

Starc is the problem

Now we're relying on the bowlers to bat and bowl...

Should have just played 11 bowlers.

Note to everyone: it'd be ok to only be 0/30 runs at this point if you just watched the ball and left shit you didn't have to play at.

Australia have morphed into Vettori-era New Zealand.

The bottom order are better than the top order.

Scratch that, 7 for 33!!

Less than 50 coming up!!

Jeez that's the first genuinely great ball of the day IMO. But still, bat and pad together?

Just tonk for the quick runs. Actually, maybe get past 36, then go hard after it

This innings is a write off. If we want to salvage anything at all, any tiny chance to somehow salvage a miracle, we need to be starting tomorrow having bowled England out as well.

I agree this innings is a write off, just like the 1st innings at Edgbaston. Anything over 100 from here will be a huge bonus. The weather will be mostly sunny on days 2,3 and 4, with showers on day 5.

We are just going to have really dig deep and play one of the most gritty, grinding team innings of the last 20-30 years in the 2nd innings of this test if we are any chance of salvaging a draw.

And just as I finished that last paragraph, Nevill out, 7-down, and you can now change "anything over 100 from here will be a huge bonus" to "anything over 50"

FFS, this is why i hate 20/20 cricket. Aust won't even use their 20 overs, not a good idea to play a 20/20 match between test matches.
