I honestly can not describe how hot it is at the ground. It’s too hot to drink beer. The indoor bar areas are packed with people for the aircon. My group is considering packing it in at lunch to go to the pub to get out of this weather.

There's a southerly due this afternoon which is supposed to cool things down...

I'm struggling with Auckland heat, can't imagine what Sydney is like right now.

It's positively Canberran weather, it seems.

And that's never a good thing

Melbourne went from 42 at 3pm to 22 at 4pm yesterday.

Despite how boring the cricket was, the pub was the place to be.

Possibly, the problem was that he didn't bowl anywhere near enough and was so poor that Khawaja came on to bowl some pies as well.

If the selectors had've said he was being brought in purely as a batsman, he probably wouldn't have copped much criticism at all.

My first reaction was that he probably bowled as much as Marsh would've. He bowled 16 overs (out of 167) and Marsh tends to bowl less than that. But then, Mitchell Marsh bowled 26 (out of 169) in Melbourne. He did the same in Perth against South Africa in 2016. So, I suppose the idea is that when the going get's tough, your 5th bowler bowls more and Labuschagne didn't. But then again, unless you want to bowl spinners at both ends, why wouldn't you bowl Lyon as much as possible over Labuschagne?
