Advertising revenue aside, if that is a concern, what difference does it make if it was on GEM permanently?The whole country has had access for over 12 months now hasn't it? Why do the anti-sphoning laws require broadcast on the main channel now that digital TV is the only option and everyone has access to the sister stations?

I don't care for AFL, but isn't it broadcast on 7mate without primary channel simulcast?

That's probably the case. I was asked to check the Swans score a few weeks back and it was only on 73. Must not apply all games.

The new legislation will create a Tier A and Tier B anti-siphoning list, allowing free-to-air commercial channels to move Tier B events from their primary channel to their digital channel.

Tier A events will include football grand finals and events such as the Melbourne Cup and will have to be broadcast live by free-to-air networks.

Their willing to take the advertising dollar from Harvey Norman by promoting HD Television using Ray Warren's voice but are not able to show the game in HD, isn't that false advertising? what century are we living in and why isn't the Govt doing something about.

I believe it is true that 9 have NEVER shown a game in HD, but a mate of mine reckons he has seen games when his screen shows 9HD during NRL games.
I reckon he is wrong.
I know 9 isn't shown in HD, so it could only be on GEM.
I just want to prove this prick wrong.
If I'm wrong, I'll happily admit it.

Before GEM it was called Nine HD and they broadcast Origin 2010 in HD/3D because Harvey Norman were pumping their 3DTV sales at the time.

If it doesn't benefit Nine or one of their partners then they have no reason to bother.
