A very good game. At first there was some worrying Knights like signs from the Phoenix, but as they warmed to the game and worked out their combinations they started to look a lot better. The Brazilians all look decent (Cleberson or whatever in particular) and Smeltz looks a real star. Coveny is too slow to be starting and Ferrante is a pot plant.

Wouldn't surprised me if Phoenix made the four, looked good in the pre season and now pushing Melb all the away could be the dark horse.

wtf?

socceroos duty?

The asian cup was a month ago and he never got a run lol

yes, but Thompson was only back for 1, maybe 2 of the pre-season matches to work on his combination with the likes of Hernandez, Patafta, Keenan etc...

there was encouraging signs for the victory today

A great effort from the Nix I thought. If Felipe is fit enough, start him ahead of Christie. It was when he came on that Daniel could really open up because the Victory had to put a man on Felipe that was otherwise marking Daniel. What about the card on Daniel though? What a joke, he was knocked down definitely the second time, and the third time tripped, but he's carded? Ordinary refereeing, refereeing the reputation rather than the incident.

Great crowd, viva la A-League in New Zealand. Love the jersey, love the make up of the team, this is going to be so much better than the Knights.

Two great games this weekend (well not sure if nix game was great, only really saw the comback).

Adelaide v Qld was quality.

Hopefully Sydney's second half is a sign of things to come. Can't afford to be off the pace at the start of the A-league if you want to be Premiers.

Fantastic from the Phoenix. Could have and should have won but coming from 2-0 down to take a point against the defending champions is a magnificent effort. I was at the game and the atmosphere was amazing. Better than anything I have experienced at any rugby game. Once the ticketing problems are sorted (massive cues outside the ground) then hopefully the crowds can pick up even more than the 14,402 that we got.

Felipe was exactly what we needed at 2-0, with his creativity, and Cleberson was solid. Smeltz looked good but Coveny was not. Daniel up to his high standard we are coming to expect now.

Just got back from an afternoon/evening in the cove.

Exciting game, sydney 2 adelaide 2.

Juninho had a free kick and another shot hit the bar, they eventually foiled him out of the game and he left with a bung shoulder.

Rudan and Popovic couldnt handle Burns and Djite. Djite blew two or three chances by trying to look too good, and Burns tore Sydney apart, a great run beating three to set up the first goal and he scored the second.

Sydney's new striker Patrick, looked pretty skillful, but muffed two chances, including one from about 2 feet out that he put over!!!!

looks like Wellington are now getting bigger crowds than sydney, even tho they're both one-town teams.

Sydney had more than their fair share of opportunities, the biggest one IMO was when Brosque had drawn to men and instead of passing it to his free teammate he tried to beat them and lost it and appealed for a foul. I always like seeing sydney fail, but i really do feel for those diehard fans behind the goal who sang their lungs out all game. For their sake i kinda hope sydney can turn it around.
