Acting Professional - when a player leaves a club

With more players changing teams on a regular basis the way a club treats a player who decides to leave them is a reflection of the clubs itself.

if you act proffesional and treat players with respect, the club will have a good reputation and attract players..

this is a business and clubs also drop players and do not re sign them so its a 2 way street...

in workplaces where someone leaves..companies and managers who act professional would be more inclined to so leave on good terms... benefiting both parties.

Way to do it

thank the player for his service and wish him the best.. and dont treat him differently..

The Alan Bond reference was a personal favourite, most League fans under 25 or so would be scratching there heads wanting to now what youtube video Bondy got famous for.

The only unprofessional thing is when CEOs have a sook about it. I've got no issue with a coach deciding to drop a player who is leaving so as not to waste anymore time developing them for another club (think Bennett with Hodges).

The funniest part is that Sandow has refused to comment on their comments. So he is more professional then the CEO. LOL@50uff$

Craig Wing is the other side of the coin. Arsehole parades around midweek sucking Rusty's dick talking about wanting to go home when we a have a game a few days later. He learned his lesson though

I dunno...

If someone I employed was going to the opposition, I'd shake their hand, wish them well and tell them to clean out their desk and hand over the car keys.

I can't ever recall seeing someone going to the opposition in a normal business allowed to work their time out, ever.

Rugby League clubs are professional, but they're not bound by the same set of "rules" as the rest of us.

IF Adam Reynolds was uninjured, I'd be all for blooding him now and sending Sandow to North Sydney for the rest of the year. But we have literally no other halfback options. We have no choice but to hope Sandow continues his form and gets us wins until our players come back from injury (other than Burgess).

Yes but its easy for you to say that as a Souths fan. But what about teams who are actually a chance of winning the comp?

For instance, if Darius Boyd were to agree to terms with another club, I can't see the Dragons dropping him to reserve grade for the year because they actually might win the competition this year.

goes both ways, the alan bond comment was very childish and made him look like a petulant fool, but that knob-end blake ferguson's "i wanna play in a premiership winning team" isnt exactly professional either, and quite a dirty slur on your old team mates.
