It think it's appropriate for the nrl to take a case by case approach to these events. The cops and courts are always going to be better at obtaining and testing evidence than the nrl so it makes sense to me to suspend a player and then wait and make a decision on the outcome of the cops, court and nrl investigation. Then anything after that is up to the club that contracts the player, and with the competition for sponsors dollars I'm very cautiously optimistic those responses will get better as well.

There's innocence and there's innocence

True enough. Worth noting that pic was taken in Bosnia when he was fighting the Serbs who were attempting genocide against the Bosnian Muslims and we, the yanks and the UN were fighting the same people for the same reason. The truth is usually complicated. And we should acknowledge and make decisions knowin that.

ST GEORGE Illawarra have a massive decision on their hands with promising forward Addin Fonua-Blake having pled guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

Fonua-Blake, 19, faced Waverly Court on January 29 accused of kicking his then- girlfriend at an Eastlakes home on January 18.

RLW can reveal that Fonua-Blake pled guilty to the charge of Common Assault and is due for sentencing on April 14.

The former NYC captain and junior Kiwi was stood down from club duties in January.

Touted as a future NRL star for the Red V, Fonua-Blake’s career is now in serious jeopardy and could be over before it begins.

Last November the NRL banned Rabbitohs premiership centre Kirisome Auva’a for an indefinite period after he pled guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend back in January 2014. At the time of Auva’a’s suspension, NRL CEO Dave Smith made the following statement:

“We abhor violence against women and it will not be tolerated in our game. Everyone needs to understand if you are violent against women there is no place for you in rugby league.”

The revelation could not come at a worse time for the Dragons who were recently forced to stand down centre Dane Nielsen after he allegedly bit a woman’s leg at a Cronulla night club.

The NRL Integrity Unit is still investigating the Nielsen matter.

Its a pity tumbi... we talk him up all off season, we will lose him to another club.
But what can the club do? Im hoping they give him a "2nd chance" as we are known as a club that gives 2nd chances.
If he is sacked and picked up by another club and prospers, wowwwww, can you imagine the sh!t Doust will cop from certain sections of our supporters hahaha
Its a no win situation im afraid.

We still don't know the details. Pleading guilty to doing what?
I will be doing what the Dragons should be doing and that's finding out the facts and once that is established then consider a punishment that is matched to his actions.

As far as I'm concerned only tha NRL should have the ability to sack, that way they are out of the game and out of a job, not just waiting a little while as they transfer to another employer.

So far club sacking have done nothing but improve the playing roster of opposing clubs.
