Good to see you're beginning to join in. Careful you don't disillusion the disciples . . . I can still get some mileage from them

f**k me he's a disingenious f**kwit. Facts are if the farce was a success, as he claimed recently, theyd be trying to sign more
How isn't this a code war?
He's just come out and said that the AFL want to supplant Union & Soccer and be #2
By the way he isn't definitively saying that they'll never buy another league player. Read it very carefully. It's left open.
He also lied about wanting to be no. 2 in Western Sydney. There is no question he wants to be no. 1.
A couple of years ago I was at a function where a former AFL head coach, and now some sort of AFL employee spoke. He was asked about GWS and stated they are there for 2 reasons. First, the TV deal. Second, Demetriou & the AFL believe that whoever is the dominant sport in Western Sydney in 10 years time will be the dominant sport nationally. Those were his exact words.
They are also pretty confident of winning this domination, and they don't rate the NRL as a threat over the next 10 years, because in his words, the NRL doesn't have the salary cap to match the AFL. I think this shows the arrogance and stupidity of the AFL, and also shows how important the next TV deal will be for the NRL.
Cherry picking
IN the same week that AFL boss Andrew Demetriou declared he would not sign any more NRL players, a rumour is doing the rounds about a sneaky approach made to Manly's boom halfback Daly Cherry-Evans. In fairness to Demetriou, I'm hearing the offer came from a third party, an AFL accredited manager, and not his own agent. The agent wanted to get permission to shop him around to the AFL clubs.
Cherry-Evans has a great kicking game and would be suited in the midfield. He's smart, he's got quick hands and would easily adapt to kicking a Sherrin. Manly remain hopeful of signing him to a long-term deal in the near-future.
you forgot machete wieldingThere is no AFL player who would survive in first grade rugby league. None - well except the cutie and Folau.
We don't need to rely on whatever drug taking, schoolgirl sexing, can't-see-them-in-profile, fumbling bumbling feebling criteria that makes a "good" AFL player.
