The statement that did it for me was "I think I'm ready for first grade, my grandfather thinks I'm ready for first grade and so does my manager". Fantastic stuff, but there has been nothing to suggest from his time in NYC that the statement is true outside of one game against the Sharks side that got pasted by 40+ and a game in NSW Cup where he scored five tries against a team that most have said would have found it hard to tackle a paddle pop stick.

The game for NSW Under 18's is another - where many other players were have been deemed to be the standouts.

To right Colonel, his talent is there in sprinkles, but his head is the problem and all the people who are contributing to inflate it, before he has even done anything really. Good luck to the kid, I hope he makes it, but it will be touch and go at best I think.

What is the point of not axing him and making him sit out the year on the bench somewhere?

Kimmorley played his best football for us under Sticky. As has Seymour and as has Porter.

Green is not being kept and Seymour is being shopped. Porter, Barrett and Kelly will be our big 3 halves with Morris as a back up.

Kelly will be our 5/8. He is linking up with a team full of young guys on the rise.. Stapleton is 19, Ferguson is 19, Mannah is 20 and Wright is 18. We are looking to build around these kids. That is appealing for a young kid wanting a chance especially when you throw in Barrett, Gallen, Tupou etc

Porter is going to be your halfback and Barret is your 5/8 he will either spend most the time in the state cup or on the bench and after 2 years go elsewhere..

Where is the compo for Parra for bringing Juniors up? Why do we even do it...... No point.

Our club does the dirty work but we cant keep them.

Pathetic, huh? This is the main reason I think our club should stop pissing a couple of mil a year at our nursery and leave it for the arl to run and pay for. If a kid wants to play for parra and is good enough we'll sign them but spending so much cash is a waste I think. I think dragons, penrith and knights should do the same.

Of course it is.

But had he stayed, where would he play?

Fullback? Jarryd Hayne is a freak and if the NSW selectors had eyes (and if Bellamy wanted it) he'd be NSW's number 1, hands down.

Five-eighth? What has he done to warrant selection ahead of KK? Mortimer...It's a toss of the coin I suppose.

Halfback? See KK. Same with Mortimer.

Centre? Inu, Reddy, Uaisele, Tautai and even Filiga would all be ahead of him.

Leaving Parramatta was probably the best decision for him at this stage when you look at it that way.

If anyone plays Kelly in the centres they are on drugs, he will get run over in defence (PS word is Uaisele and Tautai wont be here next year). We have KK and Mortz in the halves, the Sharks have Barrrett, Porter, Seymore and Green (possibly Morris but he will prob play hooker)... the sharks have alot more compatition in the halves then Parramatta.

Kelly would have been a better fit for Melbourne, Tigers or even Brisbane TBH

i think ppl talking about the opportunity to play in the halves at cronulla being less than parra are wrong

yes, barrett is still there for 1 more year, but its only 1 yr and he's getting old and i'm sure they could find playing time for kelly with barrett injured some games or switching to lock .... as for seymour, porter and green - well green can't crack the team now, so i'd imagine kelly is already ahead of him, seymour I reckon is also heading out of Ricky's revolving halfback door, porter well maybe he's kelly's medium term half partner

parra on the other hand have 2 young guys that anderson is already leaning towards over kelly - KK and Mortimer - both are young and getting started - there is MORE medium/long term competition for a spot at parra than at cronulla and DA hasn't shown a favouring of kelly so far, so maybe there is more to be worried about there

what I DON'T understand about going to the sharks is that the Tigers, who supposedly had a very good offer, are probably an even better chance for a NRL spot ... perhaps Ricky/Joe did a damn good talk up, while sheens is more straight forward?

I also see going to the sharks as risky because of Ricky - he has a halfback revolving door - I assume he is a hard marker of halfbacks and if you can't live up to it, you soon go out of favour - Kelly better hope he can live up to the hype

but hey - his life, his call, i have no real opinion of whether he'd have been great for us anyway

I also question Kellys reason for going to the sharks, with Porter, Barrett signned up, plus Morris coming and ferguson looking good at fullback where does this kid play. They must remember Seymore and Green are also in the wings and will challange Kelly for a spot.

The only reason Kelly would have gone to the sharks is money, I just cant fathom any other reason, he could have chosen Tigers (Benji and Farrah), or Storm (Smith, Cronk and Slater) with better roster and who have good coaches (well Shenes is the Aus coach) or he could have stayed with Parramatta and had less compation with probably a better squad.

Money is the deciding factor I have no doubt.

Well, if you had three job offers, and one was paying more than the others, which one would you choose? Also, Barret. How long will he be there. Maybe they`re looking at Porter and Kelly as the future. Or maybe move Barret to lock.

Well tbh im moving into a a field which alot of money can be made, but when i first graduate i want to move into a place of work in which i can further myself. I would look at who i am working with and how i can learn my trade the best of my ability. Would I take a job which offers me 100K less because of the type of people there... well yes i probably would.

I feel sorry for Blake Green. Sticky promised him the world to leave the Eels, and has only used him as a back up when someone was injured.

What if your job could be terminated at any minute due to injury? And the life span of your job was only 10-15 years?

He mustn't be that much of a loss if he can't get an U/20's team home who were up by 8 points with less than 10 to go. The Broncos were missing a bunch of players up in 1st grade too.

He may become a future star, but I can't see it being within the next 2 years....then he'll be off contract again anyway.

I don't feel sorry for him at all.
He's like any player.
Weigh up your options, and suffer the consequences.
Ricky didn't sign his contract for him.
