Explain why everyone that is bagging him is a NSWelshman then?

And even prior to this incident, LU is just one big bag of Smith, Slater, Cronk and Thurston?

Is it because they are all grubs and nobody from NSW?

Look at the video and engage your brain you old fart.

Cronk? Have hardly ever seen him bagged. He is not a grub in any form and seems a pretty solid bloke.

Completely off topic, but thought it strange to include him in the same pool as Smith and Slater. Thurston is not so much a grub a sook and protected by the NRL.

Smith is just a piece of shit. I could care less if he is from Qld, NSW, the moon or wherever. Just like Gallen is, or Greg Bird, or Justin Hodges. Grubs are grubs.

You would think smith kicked alex in the back while he was on the ground the way some people are carrying on about him here.

That's not to condone what he said on the field, it was very poor sportsmanship. A classic case of melodrama and exaggeration.

I can't understand the "ducking his head for a penalty made him a quadriplegic" dribble. Anyone who says that has never been lifted, simple. The last thing you want is to go into the ground ramrod straight, that makes your neck the pivot point for all the force going into the ground. The natural instinct when you're lifted is to tuck your chin in. That way if you go over you take the force on the back of your neck and your shoulders. It's preservation and anyone who believes it's in any way playing for a penalty is the worst kind of mouth breathing simpleton.

I said at the time, probably in this thread somewhere actually, that MacLean and McKinnon are not to blame for what happened. If it had been a genuine spear this thread probably doesn't exist, because he was braced in a way that would likely have allowed him to kind of roll with it. What made all the difference was the weight of the players on top. That created an angle where his neck became the focal point of too much force at a stage where he was braced for something from a different direction. It's a tragic accident....

Slightly off topic I know, but it shits me

Looks as though 60' and Ch 9 have got what they want out of all this. Let's do a feel good story on young Alex, show him some footage he hasn't ever seen, bait him for a reaction, everyone talks about it the next day.

Should've known better than to watch a BS news story program on a commercial televison network.

and yeah, Cam Smith's actions look bad. Bennett, a queenslander and a coach of both players in some capacity, said so himself.

the game continued. they didn't call it off, and in the heat of the moment he continued his job within the game., i.e., ensuring his player stayed on the field. that's probably a cold description of Smith's actions, but it's what happened.

But the opposition captain, let alone Australian rugby league captain not making contact a year later isn't a good look either.

and get the mics off the refs. it's a shit part of a broadcast coverage generally.

How am I backing you up?
I'm saying all players should be judged on their actions
It's the complete opposite of what you are saying, that we are only picking on cam because he is a Queenslander. I'm criticizing smith on this occasion purely because it was a merkin act from him.

You, and others are saying "If it was a blue youse would all be up in arms".

That shouldn't come into it.

He has written about it in his book. Maybe he never saw the footage but he has certainly heard what Smith said about it before 60minutes.

Do you think Simon Mannering would have reacted like Cameron Smith at the time?

If in doubt, the answer is no way in hell. Never.

# Note to I Bleed Maroon: Simon Mannering, Kiwis and NZ Warriors Captain. Good bloke.

NSWelshman are bagging him because he is a Queenslander.

See where that circular arguement leads?

Nswelshman are bagging him because he is a shit human being ( at least on this case). We bag paul Gallen when he does similar things as well. It's got nothing to do with who he plays for.

You are wrong, the fear instinct has you flexing away from danger not ducking into it.

The analogy to your statement would be the "flight" instinct when in fear would have you run towards the danger.

He said last night he was disorientated in the tackle that is why he ducked his chin into his chest, worse mistake with such a tackle.

Don't bother. Canards never had a discussion in his life that hasn't ended up In a NSW v QLD argument.

Hang on Smith tried to visit him in hospital and was turned away. McCleanan sent him a text that he wouldn't read. Maybe they decided after that he didn't want to hear from any of them and that they would just try to help out by raising money for him? Maybe if this was such a massive issue for him he could have mentioned it at anytime since. Or maybe it is just a beat up to sell more books and get more money out of 60minutes? Nothing sells like a bit of controversy on the eve of origin!

.... according to you. Despite the fact that no one had said anything about him being a queenslander prior to you bringing it up.

Smith is a trained up NRL captain and as such will always argue with a ref that an incident was not as bad as it looked, they all do it and have since the beginning of time. Anyone that says different is not in the real world, but he got it wrong on that night (and should say he did) - doesn't make him a arsehole, merkin or anything else except human (we all make mistakes).

I don't support Melbourne (shouldn't be in the comp, at all) or Qld.

I wish someone would do a montage of all the plays and calls smith had been able to get away with
