Amone guilty.

I can’t read it through the paywall.

As a question of fact, the reality is that junior made his own dumb decision. It’s not conduct that is representative of SGI or the NRL. The vast majority of players are good human beings.

The NRL is dragging the game to the USA to attract gambling revenue. It’s compromising the comp, it is unashamed about that.

Gambling to excess, is far more destructive to more people in more ways than Amone could ever be.

People just don’t connect the dots.

Bankruptcies, suicide, assaults, drinking, drugs and plenty of domestic violence caused by gambling addicts. Vlandys quiet victims.
All very true but, in this instance, we’d all be better off had Junior and the his old man had taken out their frustrations on a ground level one-armed bandit rather than a rooftop tradie.

I mean the article was referring to Moses Mbye “ who could have played halves” that is just ridiculous because:

A) he is next to useless as a half and
b) he’s racked off.

these thing are not consequence for SGI or the league on Monday even if Junior is given a good behaviour bond.

About the SGI faithful, I honestly hope you all get the opportunity to speculate upon who will playing in the second row the next year whilst the boys are jumping all over each other after just winning the gf!

One of the smuggy folk made the comment on LU this year during the first gleeful scrum of victory, so hard core I was impressed, but only one.

Over here I expect half your forum to be asking the same question at the same time!

Success is getting a tad urgent, we are in the same boat.

It’s good to be hard core, but the team has do it’s bit too.

Hopefully this incident will be the last negative one for us for a while. Culture has been poor for a few years, so I hope Flanno can bring in some cultural change to the playing group. I feel like we saw some positive change since the hook sacking. The likes of Lomax & Lawrie on-field performances & increased leadership.
There has certainly been an attitude change since Flanno took over, anyway thats what I think.

I suppose we’d better call the outcome for posterity at this Local Court level before he appeals:

5 years full time gaol is the maximum:

I am thinking 2 years full time and 2 years on parole as a minimum.

Her Honour will find that the threshold is crossed:

Source:

The reason the threshold is crossed is due to the seriousness of the offence as well as the aggravating factors.

His failure to plead guilty will be taken as meaning he lacks any contrition.

His relative youth and good character are otherwise acknowledged but no evidence of duress or undue influence by his co-accused has been before us.

I don’t think the court has any alternative other than a custodial.

No judgment is totally perfect, but bear in mind, the error must be grave enough to disturb the finding. It’s not easy.

I won’t be personally uncomfortable if he fares better than this but I think the public must be served first.

I might be wrong, that’s fine, everyone is welcome to have a crack.

Whoever gets the closest is the lion of the legal den as this troubling saga unfolds.

They are asking for orders to be served in the community, hmm we shall see. IMO the Dragons would be better off if he went to jail. I blame his father, no way Junior does this without it being learned behaviour, especially with what he had on the line.

Yeah I’ve thought about that, but it’s just too extreme for me.

It will be interesting to see what the dad gets.

I think it should be the same.

Juniors conduct was nothing short of the terrifying.

That windscreen could have been roofies face. Almost got killed fleeing.

All bets are off if he gets an ICO, anything goes thence.

If the Dragons don't sack him I'll be very disappointed. It looks like they're going to stand by him in my view. Weak.
I don't think so. Not in this instance Parko. He is guilty of his crime and his dad copped the jail time. I'm thinking that after Junior serves his 2 years community orders, the NRL will suspend him for a further 2 years. He deserves it. He is lucky not to get jailed, so the penalty will be no more NRL for quite some time.

Whats an intensive corrections order? Will it affect his trainings, travelling etc?
He will essentially be monitored with an ankle bracelet or something of the sort and have restrictions on what he can and cannot do, where he can go, and what times he can do this. IF he was allowed to train and play, which it seems he would be eventually at this stage, the monitor I suppose would have to come off but they'd know his whereabouts regardless. I'm not entirely sure how that part works. He will report to a CCO (community corrections officer), who will be in charge of approving/disapproving his will to go somewhere/do something and set him strict schedules he'll be expected to adhere to.

The Saints sacked Paul Vaughn over a bbq so you would think Amone would be treated the same. If not that would be pretty weird seeing Amone's offence was a lot worse than Vaughn. I am keen to see what the NRL do with this?

I can see Gus organising a secret coffee with Amone this week and he will be signed next week if the NRL let him serve a small suspension.

I'm assuming we won't get a Dragons press release until the NRL hand down their formal punishment, which should be today if they stop oiling themselves up over Las Vegas for 5 minutes. Keen to see where this club is really at, because it should be an absolute no brainer to sack him. My feeling is we'll be very disappointed by what the club does.
