I dare say I'm in the majority that would like to see Rugby League take a similar approach that cricket has towards the players treatment of umpires. More or less, you cannot question a decision what so ever. You can't even approach them.

i'm getting to that stage. in the past i've had no problems with discussions with refs but just just gotten worse and worse. i worry that we're heading the direction of soccer where players chase refs around screaming at them. played oztag once with a ref who penalized you if you called out an infringement i.e. forward pass. shut both teams up pretty quickly

I play tag and you may as well not say a thing ...they never change their mind.
If you throw a punch the whole team gets booted out.

However,
If you are working on the field as a trainer with an injured player ..then surely asking the ref if you can ask him a question (once the game is over )
should be allowed ....or at the least given an answer like " you'll have to put in writing through the correct channels - as per the rules"

But they need to change to the RU style where everyone is a number except for the captain and the players address the ref as sir.

When the players in the top flight start showing the respect, it will flow down the chain.

Kids behave like dickheads to officials because they see the integrity of the NRL referees questioned week in, week out. The refs may make howlers, but they should be allowed to make their decisions without their authority being called into question.

I agree with going back to calling players by numbers, and addressing the ref as sir. Anyone who approaches the referee outside of the captain should be binned. That will sort the f**kers out quick smart.
