There were two sides to that, it wasn't just a matter of them turning their back on test jumper, they were stripped from them first. How many SL players were selected in 95 to play for australia and in Origin? It was a two way street, they weren't wanted because they signed with SL in 95, then were expected to want to play in 96 when SL was starting in 97. How f**ked up is that? And you want to use it as an example in this, it's not the same thing at all.

The only people who say "Well that's different" is the Super League fans. Perfectly okay for the Super-League players to say "f**k Off" and then still be picked.

No I agree it was totally different. Instead of just missing one game because he has commitments elsewhere, he missed an entire season because he couldnt get his way. Then the NRL came very close to allowing him to be captain of Australia.

Really? That's odd, since I distinctly remember reading post-match reports after this years origin where both Steve Ricketts and Mike Colman state that Johns had reclaimed his rank as the leagues premier player.
