No one ever said he was the defensive coach stop clinging to that. I said our defence has gone to shit since he left. Doesn't mean he was responsible for the defence himself or at all.

The article says he is now defensive coach at the Dragons. Your post after the article said 'our defence went to shit after he left'

So that leads me to think he was defence coach. More original thought was Wallace now does his job.. So that still might be the case

Actually defence for as long as I can remember has been an over-arching problem at Penrith.

Add in players getting injured, unsettled team due to this, rep players comming back a bit busted, plus not training with the team for some weeks.

But hey everything has gone to hell in a handbasket hey ! Sitting 5th n all.

Yes I agree there probably are some issues with Hook. Nothing though that raises the level of Womens Day and New Idea fury and enquiry.

Will Hook be at Panthers next year (I have no idea) We are all repeating 2nd or 3rd hand information (which may or may not be true).

Me I'm celebrating having a footy team that never gives up (even when it seems all is lost) that is well within the top 8. This is the 3rd year in a row that this has happened. So it's no fluke. Also ISP and Flegg teams are in similar positions too.

Something that we as 'punters' in years gone past only dreamt of.

So I'm gunna leave all the gnashing of teeth, sack cloth and ashes to others.

I should've been more clear what I was getting at with that comment sorry. Just pointing out the possibility that our defence going bad was somehow related to Phillips. I have no idea if he was doing that or not.

He would have been involved with our defence in some capacity. Or else why would NSW and Dragons use him for defence?

Honestly knew nothing about him until recently. But based on everything I have read he was a great resource that we failed to utilize.

Some of you guys are going to experience RSI (repetitive strain injury) in years to come, if not already.

There seems to be a general conscensus on here Athony Griffin is not the perfect NRL coach but some of the stuff being said and written is just over the top.

The problem is people in the know are feeding it which gives it life.

The 'perfect coach' does not exist.

All coaches have strengths and flaws.

Yes I fully agree. Now is the time to back the team in and encourage them to reach their potential.

I don't think Phillips had a big of a role as he wanted. The fact he was able to do the Origin position shows that.

We now have Wallace as a full time assistant. Ciraldo too is a full time assistant. 2 assistants and a coach seems the norm.

So whose role did Wallace get? If it was Phillips why did Gus sign off on it... If he rated Phillips so highly?

That is the questions I have in all this

The problem is people that claim to be in the know are feeding it which gives it life amongst the gullible.

There, fixed it for you.

Pretty much this. There is still questions no one knows the answer too. It is just guessing

Hi all

been overseas for the last month so not been too active.

I have been a supporter of Griffin all year, but now I cant see the game for all the smoke (aka, there must be a fire somewhere). A team of this quality doesn't turn to s#it just because a few players have had a full rep season.......
