So in early July I was told that the players and staff were getting very frustrated as Hook wanted to do everything himself.

He was labelled extremely old fashioned and stuck in his ways.

He comes across like a good bloke in the media but inside the club he was not like that at all.

They were trying to adopt an approach that would suit all parties and manage the situation accordingly.

On to last week as I detailed here, the situation became dire and it escalated further until the decision today.

Weidler and Hooper have nailed it this afternoon with their accounts.

You can tell he was stubborn and stuck in his ways just by comparing his time at penrith to his stint in Brisbane which ended with him being replaced. The playing style he wanted was the same, the type of players he preferred was the same and the plan was the same, nothing had changed at all. His time at Brisbane there was also the same whispers of players not getting on well with him.

No. It f**king didn't.

Speculation never stopped. It was f**king stupid... his initial contract with us hasnt even finished yet.
Have a cup of tea and a lie down. I said it "would have been worse", not that it would kill all speculation. You must read all the words mate and then you won't have to rant.

Why was he extended last year. Cause things like this don't happen overnight ?

You said it made sense. Which is bullshit.

Youre defending a stupid decision that has cost the club $1m+ for absolutely zero gain at all.

We sacked him before his initial contract expired and think extending that a year ago made sense. When no club had expressed interest in him.

He has beaten top 4 teams in finals and made a grand final.

Hook has done neither. But yeah lets compare the coach who has rebuilt 3 clubs win ratio to a coach who has only had teams ready for giving a premiership a shake.

We need a coach that can take the next step. Ivan hasn't done that so why will here be different? Isn't that what you were saying about Griffin the whole time?

As soon as I get proper intel about who the new coach is I will post.

I don't post until I'm confident.
Daz, based on your inside info, did they need to get rid of Hook now? I'm not asking for a reason, I know its confidential, but something must have brought this to a head. We are going to make the finals after all.

We will take your SECONDS Nathan Cleary and give you MWZ in return
You can keep 4 chins Gould and his 5 year plan, which is now up to 8 after you fail again this year
what do you know, another misinformed person rambling on about the 5 year plan. news flash, the 5 year plan is not to win a Premiership, but to rebuild the club

Looks like we’re just going take Ivan back, if we decide we want him that is.

He won’t go back while 4 chins Gould is there..
Plus he’s building a new house at Colloroy...
Do I have to tell you guys everything?lol
It’s that dumb Penrith westies mentality again of yours

Well not to say I told you so but everything I’ve been saying about Griffin now looks fairly correct. Take out all the swearing and insults and the analysis is correct.

We should’ve fired Hook when he banned attacking kicks.

Ivan has gone pretty damn close.

I think he could win a premiership. He has beaten Storm twice this year eith an inferior roster to ours.

Hook im 100% certain couldnt and so were our board.

I personally think they could've waited until we were eliminated.

As I said, Gus and Hook were completely off each other. It had obviously got to a stage where it couldn't continue.
