Then it should’ve been handled earlier.

Either way heads need to roll. It’s a clusterf**k.

I’ve said many times it should’ve happened earlier, Webster said today Gus went to the board earlier in the year and wanted to sack him and the board said no. Just because it wasn’t handled earlier doesn’t mean we should just let it ride, if we are better off without him than we are better off without him.

Not 4 weeks out from the finals.
Its a gamble for sure.

We'll know soon if it paid off or not.

Realistically though our form was not good for the past 2 mobths under Hook and its hard to imagine we were going further than week 1 or 2 with him.

If we make it that far (week 2) without him. Well it hasnt really hurt us at all. But if we make it past week 2 it has paid off.

As I've said a few times now, I think Gus has a differing opinion to the board on a number of key issues. Gus has made some f**kups in the past to be sure. But they should have listened to him and swung the axe the moment Gus said his time was up.

If I am correct at half-time in Canberra game Griffin was sitting in front of team but Peter Wallace was doing the talking.

So if the rumours are to be believed that Hook had help this year. Would that make Ciraldo and the rest of the crew just as responsible for our bad form?

I can understand the differences of opinions between coaches and staff but ultimately it’s the responsibility of all of those involved with our team. Not just hook.

That’s my point though, if the board said no earlier then heads need to roll on the board. Someone needs to be held accountable for the poor handling.

From what Gould says he refused the help and became more isolated.

Well given your history on here you must be revelling in this mess.

I have just listened to the podcast and if what Gus has said is in anyway true his position is probably now untenable.

I think that is sad given what he has done for our club.

I wouldn't expect you to agree given your well known documented views on Gould.

At the end of the day whether your were a supporter or otherwise of Phil Gould it is now apparent we are likely to be looking for a new general manager in addition to a new head coach.

Well based on my 50 years as a supporter I suspect you doomsayers will get what you deserve and instead of being on the cusp of a dynasty we will go back to being the chocolate soldiers.

Seems a bit convenient the people who 3 days ago were trotting out lines like 'you can't believe everything Gus says' are now the ones basing their whole argument on what Gus has said.

I'm sure there's a middle ground somewhere.

Footage I saw on ch9 was Griffin was sitting in the middle barking orders then they went back to the room a few minutes later and Maloney was waving his hands doing all the talking.

Since Cleary got fired until now there have been a few mistakes from management/board level, I’m not denying that.

Whether someone needs to go for this issue though I not sure, I think get through the next few weeks and lock down hooks replacement before we get the guillotine out.

I just can’t believe everything Gus says right now.

Every coach needs help but we had success when he was doing it solo. Some would argue we could have been doing better but That’s seriously debatable because some overrate our talent and think we should be world beaters year after year.

Didn't Daz say on here a month ago Gould was frustrated over Griffin and Gould was just sitting back and waiting?

Interestingly Whare made a comment about how DWZ was the best fullback this club has and his talk, defence and attack was key to our wins.

How would it when he was supposedly resisting their help more and more as the season went on?

Maybe hes a shit NRL coach. We will know soon enough.

Well it ties in with Phillips quitting the coaching staff, I think someone else may have left too.

I assumed DWZ was rushed back a weekly early and didn't have the miles in the legs to play fullback after injuring his hammy.
It will be interesting to see what changes in the coming weeks.
