Taupau and Farah out. Twp depth players as back up. Brilliant.

Looks like 2016 is written off by the club

Can't blame Taupau if he wants out. We are certs for the spoon next year if we keep Taylor and lose Robbie. He has had a year with Jason at the helm and knows what he is in for with Taylor as coach for another year.

We need to keep Taupau long term. If he goes so should Taylor.

Taylor ought to go coz we've gone backwards in a season where we weren't impacted by injuries & for having the temerity/stupidity for insisting our captain & most experienced player will play nsw cup next yr.

I just hope the board judge this incompetent dickhead of a coach on performance & results next yr although I have my doubts as the board via Go's moronic statements are totally out of there depth.

I have no idea where all this is going to end. It really looks like someone is purposely running the place into the ground so that an offer will come in from the NRL to bail us out on the proviso we consider relocation. I have heard many of you on here saying that will never happen and truth is I hope it doesn't but I am really concerned how incompetent the board is and how a team I have followed all my life has all but imploded....

It might sound over dramatic but it breaks my heart to see what is happening. I think back to when Alan Jones was coach, when Terry Lamb was coach and when Hoppo did his thing. I didn't think my team could ever get much lower...but guess what, they have.

I am not holding my breath for any great signings or even results for 2016 but I'd love to be wrong.

Isn't this the plot for the movie BASEketball?

I thought this whole thing was playing out like a script from a B grade movie.

When it's a choice between a carefully planned conspiracy and incompetence I will suggest incompetence most times, including this case.

This story is disturbing - lack of communication, players happy to be leaving.
from Danny Weidler Sun Herald column

Robbie Farah is sunning himself in Bali right now and at the back of his mind must be the knowledge that the longer he stays put the more chance there is that Jason Taylor will need to explain why he should be kept.
"I'm just looking to unwind," Farah said of his getaway. "I've got no real worries because I've got a contract with the club."
Farah is sitting tight – he has $2million coming his way. When Farah was told he was not wanted by the club he was devastated. At the same time Robbie was told he was bound for second grade the board were told a few things – namely that it would not be a problem for Farah to get another club and importantly that the players didn't like Farah.
Players I have dealt with have nothing but praise for Farah as a person and leader. They say he has developed significantly in the last 12 months.
But here is the untold story of what Farah is like. Sitaleki Akauola was part of the Tigers' top 25 and shares an agent with Farah.
A product of South Auckland, he came to Australia to work and play some footy. He went to a trial and jagged a spot with the Tigers and in their main squad this year.
"It was a real proud moment in my life," said the 23-year-old. "But things were not good for long. I was put in the halves and I am not a half. I play back row and that's it. I was playing in State Cup and I felt terrible – I was putting so much pressure on [Josh] Drinkwater.
"I felt terrible. I am not a ball player. I felt terrible. I thought of seeing a counsellor – I'd get home from training and I did not want to talk or eat. I would go straight to my room."
Akauola says he was "ashamed with myself" when he was dropped from the 25-man squad.
"I was lucky that I had Robbie at the club and Dene Halatau and Keith Galloway. They noticed a big change and Robbie just would come up and ask talk to me. Same as the other boys. "They knew something was wrong – but they didn't understand just how bad it was for me. I eventually saw my brother and just told him that I really needed to talk to him. I was really depressed and felt isolated."
Taylor says the club kept an eye on the young player.
"We monitored his situation through Dene Halatau," the coach said. "It wasn't an official thing but Dene would report back to me on his condition and it was something we kept an eye on because players were concerned about him."
Akauola says he was thankful for his family: "I know there are other blokes at the Tigers who feel the same way ... the lack of communication, the isolation," he said. "They are younger than me and they may not feel able to talk up. I worry about their state of mind. I think now that I am away from the club I will be OK. I have a fresh chance at Penrith. I hope others get the chance for another start."

Disturbing to say the least Rons Mate.

We have already had one tragedy at the club where a young player took his own life so the club needs to be very mindful of these young players. It is good to see Halatau playing a role as a senior player but my concern is for those who don't open up.

I hope Jason Taylor does take an active role as coach and not just use other players as mediators. His role is critical in all this.

Grant ahh. Is he the replacement in the McQueen / Farah swap?

No matter what people think of him as a player now, for me, he's not a Tigers type signing:
He has played SOO,
He has size,
He does run hard with his hit ups, not like Galloway at all,
He'd be looked at as a starting prop surely and the Tigers just sign depth players don't they?

Pass on Grant. Rather spend a fraction of the price and continue developing Ava

On that note, HAVE WE RE-SIGNED AVA YET?????

If we are spending any cash on players it needs to be in the back row. With the new interchange rules we need a new Bodene Thomson...80 minute workhouse, no nonsense player

I think the Tim Grant stuff is coming from Souths' end - they're trying to move him.

Hopefully we go nowhere near him (unless we're getting him for min wage). He's basically a poor man's Galloway at this stage of his career.

According to Fox Sports, Wests Tigers have signed Josh Doddo-Carr from the under 20's Sharks on a one year deal. He can play fullback, wing and centre is 184cms tall and weighs 81kgs.

Agree re-pass on Grant.

Wasn't he meant to be the "gun" replacement for Sam Burgess yet was in and out of that side due to form and disciplinary reasons?

Would probably flourish under a coach like Bellamy or Bennett but couldn't see him being much here
