Anyone else tuning out

I've been losing interest since 2010'sh when we decided we wanted to be a shit house club with a shit house coach. I will still watch the eels and if it is on I will watch some other game but apart from that I am not dedicated to watching all the games. I haven't flown away to an away game in years.

In that time thought I have enjoyed 3 straight Hawks premierships, 2 Bathurst Victories and one Series Championship as well as Thunders two BBL Premierships this year.

I've lost interest simply due to the fact we are proven cheats. I find it extremely difficult to support cheats.

So why don't you go and support someone else then?

If we didn't cheat then we wouldn't have a decent team going forward. The team from 2017 and beyond will always be assembled only because we cheated previously. Otherwise we'd have a team currently as good as the Knights.

I don't care that we cheated, I'm more disappointed that the Incompetent Five were poor at cheating and got caught.

i watch all the games still but think we will never win a premiership as the competition is not a level playing field. even when we cheat

refereeing seems to get worse every year too

i have no interest in any other football codes though and never will

So because I don't condone cheating (as you do) I should support another team?? I have always been a passionate eels supporter and spent huge amounts of time and money on them. That passion has seriously dropped the last month or so. It doesn't mean I have suddenly developed a new passion for another team you simpleton

I don't know what's happening to you fellas but I'm very surprised none of my friends or aquaintances are broaching the subject with me. I keep waiting for someone to have a dig but besides a bronco fan I work with (who shut up after 2 words 'Andrew Gee') no one is saying anything

Honestly I was expecting to be copping it from everyone, but so far, most of the people I know have been not so bad. Especially since when they ask me about it I haven't violently denied it.

It seems most people understand that it's something that was done to us fans (and the team), not something the fans or team did themselves.

Probably the only positive that has come from the media avalanche, they have pasted the blame squarely on the board, and made sure everyone knows that.

The fact our season is over and yet we aren't even half way through the Comp really makes it hard to remain interested.

Will definitely be watching the eels each week but my interest in other games / watching the various footy shows won't be as high as in previous years.

Just hope sometime soon the media just gives up and let's the eels move on - we have been punished.

Let's hope we get some good news with the re-signing of players

Norman said today that his manager and the club are in talks this week, so hopefully that can brighten the mood in this place.

But is it though? Our chances are slim, but we aren't out yet.

How about a little optimism?

I haven't completely tuned out to other games, but I do think the quality of some matches is pretty ordinary.

We've basically got 2 teams that are going so well, that we'd expect them in the Grand Final, Broncos and Cowboys, maybe 2 others that would challenge them, Storm and Sharks, but probably wont go that far, the rest of the teams would go ok but just making up the numbers in the 8.

Ive heard from other fans that we could've been the 3rd team to challenge the top 2 teams, and its a shamed we've been rubbed out.

But I haven't given up hope, once we get Foran back the task of winning 12 from 14 is still a possibility.

Well that's fair enough, I wasn't expecting you to support someone else.

But how can you have ongoing support for someone knowing they cheated, when you appear to be philosophically opposed to that cheating?

if I had a philosophical problem to cheating I think I would have given up on supporting the team.

Foran, Jennings & Scott will always have been obtained by Parramatta because they cheated...

yeah I did watch every game every week and every episode of NRL 360 and Sterlo (i record both) but lately i've been watching 4-5 games a week and sometimes i watch those 2 shows and other times i just delete them from the mystar and don't bother. Most Saturday nights i'd rather watch Netflix than the footy. Who wants to see Newcastle get smashed by the Broncos? it;s like a NRL team v a 1st grade Group 21 team. I have got to the stage with Brisbane unless they are playing a top4 team it's not worth watching as they will just smash them.

I watch as many games possible.
Sure some games are poor and uncompetitive but when you compare to other comps like AFL, where 90% are uncompetitve and crap, this is one of the best comps in the world.
I watch most games cause every week you get gems like Storm and Cowboys, I even had more interest in the Sharks beat down of the Knights over other sports simply because I loved watching the Sharks.
But it comes down how many close games there are every week.

I simply pity those who only watch a sport because it is the sport their teams plays in. They aren't really rugby league supporters. I am a rugby league supporter who happens to love the Eels.
