I watch as many games possible.
Sure some games are poor and uncompetitive but when you compare to other comps like AFL, where 90% are uncompetitve and crap, this is one of the best comps in the world.
I watch most games cause every week you get gems like Storm and Cowboys, I even had more interest in the Sharks beat down of the Knights over other sports simply because I loved watching the Sharks.
But it comes down how many close games there are every week.

I simply pity those who only watch a sport because it is the sport their teams plays in. They aren't really rugby league supporters. I am a rugby league supporter who happens to love the Eels.

Tbh, I don't give a f**k about rugby league - it's only Partamatta I love.

Don't need your pity, though.

Here is the problem. I still watch Parra. But i lose interest in watching other teams play other teams when parra aren't going well. Make sense?
Yes when they are going well i look more forward to it then when they are getting flogged. Is this not normal? When they are getting flogged and there is no way they can win i turn tv off and find something else to do. I do not see the point of sitting there and watching the rest when i have other things to do.
It is not about passion - I just already know the result

I'm not talking about interest in the other games in the round, I don't care if you watch those or not, I don't, unless they're on, or I'm really in the mood.

It's more about Parra I'm talking about, if you mean you lose interest in the other games in the round, I totally get that, no issue there with me.

If you are still watching and supporting Parra week in week out regardless of their performance you're good with me, I don't care if you watch the Titans play the Dragons, f**k those guys..

I'm afraid whenever I see a great team performing now (like Brisbane or Cowboys) I just think they must be very good at arranging TPA's 'at arms length' (or cheating and not getting caught/dobbed in). Even Cronulla (my second favourite team right now) I think geez they've got a pretty good line-up, I wonder how they arranged all those TPA's 'at arms length'.
This whole TPA bullshit has ruined the game for me. I've followed rugby league since 1964 (not just Parramatta, although they have been my team since then). I've got a lot of great memories to fall back on. But the game isn't the same anymore. The winners are now the clubs who have a great network of monied people in the community who are prepared to top up the salaries of players in a way that is seen to be 'at arms length'. And cheating this system is undetectable unless you're stupid or you get dobbed in. Is this supposed to be some sort of joke or something?
The talk has been that the Roosters are something like $800,000 under the cap, so they could afford Jarryd Hayne. Right, okay, so they'd need to get him another bunch of money from a third party. So they go 'wink wink, nudge nudge, if your manager goes and talks to so and so, they might be able to help you'. Is that arms length? What is arms length?
I'm watching the Schute Shield lately - happy in watching sport for its own sake. And it takes me back to my days of playing Rugby Union for Macquarie Boys' High. For the moment, I don't give a f**k about the NRL. I like the game of rugby league, but at NRL level it's just a pale shadow of what it used to be.

I've lost interest simply due to the fact we are proven cheats. I find it extremely difficult to support cheats.

And, of course, this too. In over fifty years of following the Eels, I've never had to experience this before. Leaves a really sour taste. But as long as I have the fairly certain belief that just about every other club has been forced to do this, I can get over the cheating aspect. What I can't get over is the system that created this situation in the first place.
Scrub the salary cap altogether. Since the cap came in, half the teams in the comp have shared premiership success and the other half have shared the bottom half of the table. Level playing field?

You are too cynical mate.

Can't you just give Cronulla the benefit of the doubt and attribute their success to their systematic doping program and not to alleged TPA's?

They do only have two players (Gallen and Graham) who were part of their past issues.

To be honest they have assembled a pretty good team, with very few of them on a large amount of money.
