In this game the Flange was out manouvered by a rookie coach.
If you heard Flange's comments at half time, all he wanted was for the team to keep things tight. Anyone could see that Manly were playing an expansive game and getting on top in the first half, and continued to in the second half.
There were no changes to our plan and Manly knew it and kept playing their game.
Does Flange have it in him to change a game plan during the course of a match if his tactics aren't working?

I don't think so.

We've seen it twice recently. Last night and the Cowboys semi last season. We were underprepared and ambushed in Townsville. We had no answer and just stayed with the original game plan.

We'll never win the comp with Flanno, but I'm resigned to the fact we're stuck with him for this year and probably next. Still can't get my head around him getting extended while all the ASADA shit was going down.

It's absolutely embarrassing that we spend all this money on players yet still have a bunch of nobodies turning up each week with Flano just so they can get ugly mugs on tv and pretend they are someone important.

Agreed. Definitely more professionalism needed in the coaching staff. Its deadset a boys club with some of them.

Have you ever had to work with him?

I worked within both him and Ricky's surrounds,, both good blokes to me. That finished up about 7 - 8 years ago but I still chat to them every so often with no problems at all.
Doesn't have anything to do with rating their coaching ability though.
