I dont understand this argument. Its akin to giving up.

Do we just accept we have a shit coach and because we've never had success we must never strive for better?

well it is simple
If it is all the coach's fault now ...then it must have always been the coach's fault we've never won.
Why does this coach cop the blame while some past coach's are exempt to blame?

John Lang.
Had the team to win a grand final easily.
and I mean easily.
That team was 10 x any team Flano has had.

Everyone is on about replacing the coach. It won't make a scrap of difference
there is no one out there that is better than flanno.

All the guys mentioned above have been sacked due to sucking and the others have no experience. Kimmorley and Parrish for example.

It's a culture thing with the players

Don't buy the players culture thing. These guys aren't locals with no other experience outside the Sharks. The club culture maybe but we've drastically improved the front office and had decent player turnover. The only thing that remains untouched is the coaching staff.

Truth. There is only so many times that people can say ''oh he just needs more time''. Time to cut the coaching staff loose, all of them.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I really struggle to comprehend why there are people supporting the coach. Enlighten me please?

Lang never had more more than 3 SoO players. Did well to keep us playing finals. Sure we had some good players but other teams had better rosters every single year.
Premiers During Langs Tenure
1994 - Raiders - Mal, Sticky, Daley, Walters, Lazarus
1995 - Bulldogs - Lamb, Pay, Price, Dymock, Sliva
1996 - Manly - Cement, Halser, Hill, Lyons, Menzies
1997 - Broncos - Lockyer, Langer, Renouf, Webcke, Walters bros, Salior
1998 - Broncos - Lockyer, Langer, Renouf, Webcke, Walters bros, Salior
1999 - Melbourne - Lazarus, Kearney, Nikau, Bai
2000 - Broncos - Lockyer, Langer, Renouf, Webcke, Walters bros, Salior
2001 - Newcastle - Johns, Buderus, Kennedy, the good Gidley Bro, Tahu

He then went on to win a Premiership. With a squad he built from stratch
He also won BRL premierships before he came to us
Flanno did win a premiership with Rooster Flegg in 2004
His team
Sam Perrett; McConkie Tauasa, Jermaine Ale, Albert Hopoate, Michael Lett; Jamie Stoward (c), Peter Taylor; Grant Millington, Michael Burns, Luke Fatnowna, Danny Williams, Heath L'Estrange, Ray Moujalli. Res: Peewee Moke, Frank Winterstein, Troy Malcolm, Luke Gordon, Willam Tupou, James Shillington

The bloke can get a team together but he can't coach.

This isn't someone who's just started at the Sharks or is in his 3rd year so has just got the team he wants, he's the second most capped coach at the club.

As for hangovers from Ricky, as far as I'm aware it's only Elkin that's left. From the players, what, Gal? It's completely his bag.

Flanno is a coach that needs to head a super club with a star studded playing roster. Where he can get them prepared and taught how to play safe, then let the creative players take control on the field and win it for him.

In his time here the team hasn't played any differently and apart from the odd forward, no player has improved their skill set under his tutelage.

I'm not deluded enough to think we'll get rid of him this year but hopefully we axe him for next year or at worst, have another coach in mind to take over from him instead of blindly renewing his contract. I say that even if we make the finals this year.

To be fair to Flanno he has never a standout squad either.
We have what 2 SoO players (This year) Fifta and Gall, maybe Graham.
I just dislike the brand of footy we play.
And what he did to the club.
I did like how the halves are combining that is play both sides of the field linking with each other.

Mat rogers
Lang
J Stevens
Treister
Nick graham
Russell Richardson
Mitch Healey
All in their prime
Biggest choke in the clubs history 1999 - Lang coach
Add Preston to that in 2001 in the best form of his career
Another choke to Newcastle
